it's been a treat watching this defense progress. they're even starting to get over their issues with those first few scripted drives. its also feels like they just get better throughout the game. so many defenses in this league are the opposite. they come out hot then come back to earth as the game goes on. we're out here swarming in the 4th quarter. and vonn bell. WOW. just WOW

Re: Defense
Our defense has been stellar over the past 6 games. I think they are healthy and confident as a unit and getting more momentum. I have zero concerns with our defense right now. They are playing amazing. I worry about the time off if we secure the one seed next week and rest starters for week 17. I hope they don't lose their edge over the break.
I'm worried about our offensive line injuries and getting Ginn back. Our young WR stable is becoming underwhelming. I see alot of our offensive woes being partly from the 3 game road trip. We will get back on track in the dome and the key will be the run game. Push it like we've never pushed it before and let the play action return. Will be just what the doctor ordered. |

Re: Defense
Same could be said for Kamara and Thomas the way they were being used earlier in the year. I think that’s why we started to get back to spreading the ball around more like we used to. We just don’t have the personnel to get it done that way and get the production like we had in years past. The Saints have proven they can beat teams using only Kamara and Thomas. We were doing it until a playoff spot was pretty much secure. After that they started taking a little pressure off them by attempting to spread the ball around. If using only Kamara and Thomas is how they need to win games in the post season that’s the time to do it. Payton has been playing long ball.

Re: Defense
To put a bow on the 2018 Saints defense (last 6 games) ...
1st - takeaways 1st - sacks 1st - ppg That's a big time, prime time championship caliber defense. Just wait until the offense starts to click in the dome. |
