Saints vs Panthers Game Day Thread

1 Attachment(s)
New Orleans has won the NFC South, they have clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but there are still a few things to keep an eye on in Week 17.

Teddy Bridgewater will start the game for the Saints against the Carolina Panthers' third-string QB Kyle Allen. If Bridgewater can lead the Saints to a win, it would mark the best regular season record in franchise history.

On the individual level, several players also have contract performance bonuses on the line.

EXPERT PREDICTIONS
• Nick Underhill

Tough to call this one considering the Saints have not made it clear which players are going to play. But the guess here is that Teddy Bridgewater is going to show up ready to play and will lead New Orleans to its 14th victory of the season.

Saints 24, Panthers 17

• Rod Walker

This game doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but the Saints would love to finish 14-2 and have the best regular season record in franchise history. This is backup QB Teddy Bridgewater going up against Panthers' third string quarterback Kyle Allen. Big edge to Bridgewater.

Saints 28, Panthers 13

• Nathan Brown

It would be easy to give the Saints a loss in a game that plays no bearing on their postseason future. But this team hasn’t gotten this far this year without a strong second string, and they’ll be enough to defeat a Panthers squad on a seven-game losing streak starting their third-stringer under center.

Saints 23, Panthers 13

Especially against a Division Rival who would love to screw up some of our players.

Rivera is either fired or not, but this game won't decide that.
Yes, the Panthers will 'play to win', but that doesn't mean their best players will be out there 100% of the time. There are ways to give maximum effort without actually throwing the game.

On the line for them is a potential 6 spot swing in draft order and a 3rd or 4th place schedule instead of second. Hmmmm, do you want the Vikings or Lions next year?

other than pride (overrated) and divisional hatred (time for that 2X next year) they don't have much to play for.

If we contain, not stop, McCaffrey we win in a low-scoring game

Looks like Jordan will play... At least a little bit:

Will both brooms fit a locker? He may need to lean one on the outside. Next to his purses.

Lots of young guys on both sides will get a lot of playing time and they desperately want to deliver.

It could be dangerous for our key players to play against hungry desperate and relatively inexperienced guys.

I’m glad Kamara is inactive. This might be an unpopular opinion, but he hasn’t looked as dynamic or game-breaking to me this season. That’s not to say he hasn’t had a great season, but he’s looked sluggish. Get him some rest.

long grueling season for that position. Dude is near 1000 yards as a part time RB and has like 1600 yards from scrimmage. He has been insanely phenomenal for his first two seasons in the league and don't think he has ever been injured and missed a game which is crazy for that position.

Good morning who dats. Let's hope that Teddy Bridgewater can run like the wind and get another win. 13 and 3 sure does sound familiar to me. It has a certain winning ring to it! LOL

This game is our divisional victory lap. Happy to see a bunch of guys getting the day off, and it should be fun to see Teddy give it a go.

That's it. Call the game a loss and get everybody off the field. Forfeit if you have to. Stay healthy for the Super Bowl run.

In playoffs Apple must eliminate these stupid reactions. Way too much pass interference penalties.

I know the game is meaningless but Kyle Allen has shredded our defense with no inactives on our defense.

Also, I have a bad feeling Peat may have broken his arm or wrist.
