One of the New Orleans Saints’ coaches is starting to attract some attention.
On Monday, the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns requested permission to interview Saints assistant head coach and tight ends coach Dan Campbell for their respective vacant head coaching positions, according to a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Payton himself said earlier this year Dan could and should be a head coach soon.
Remember the days when Saints coaches were NOT sought after? Wasn’t that long ago...

Yeah Dan Campbell was just biding his time here, no surprise that he's getting called.
The real question in my book will be DA with all the openings I can't imagine that he gets overlooked.

I don’t think Dennis Allen gets a HC shot. Our defensive resurgence is all about Ryan Nielsen, Mike Nolan and Aaron Glenn. I’d be more upset about losing one of them to a DC job.

No coach ever takes an assistant HC gig without intending to move up to head coach somewhere. The Patriots lose assistants to HC gigs all the time, so if anything its correlated to winning not losing. The whole team plays with more energy if there is the sense that our backups are other teams future starters and our assistants will soon be coaching the rest of the league.
