I know Levar has played WLB mostly, but I've read he plays well in traffic, and takes on blockers well. He's also added weight since he was drafted. He may be similar to James Allen in that he started at WLB and moved over to SLB as his physical play improved.

I think he has the skill set to play the SLB. He certainly couldn't be any worse than Hodge.

Here's why I think he could play the SLB. Remember, this scouting report was done when he was a rookie, and he has added 15 to 20 lbs since this scouting report.
Positives:
Has very quick instincts to read and react
Moves through traffic with force
Able to locate the ball in an instant
Makes great use of his strong upper body,
Uses his hands to sift through traffic
Has the balance and body control needed to avoid low blocks
Has good zone awareness, showing good depth on his drops
Sound tackler who lowers his shoulder properly before delivering the hit
Displays balance as he moves down the line in pursuit
Has a crisp, controlled backpedal, opening his hips properly to turn on the ball
Has the flexibility to counter blocks when attempting to close
Plays low to the ground, playing with classic wrapup tackle technique.


If you ask me Levar Fisher has SLB written all over him, now that he's added the bulk. His main knocks were all about his size, but he's already added 20 lbs so thats no longer an issue. I think he can push Allen for a starting job and push Hodge out the door.
