I am a huge Sammy Hagar fan as well as Van Halen, and David Lee Roth on his own...

I just prefer Van Halen's work with DLR over the Sammy era. Just like Black Sabbath with RJD holds a special place in my heart, and I am a huge Ozzy fan...

VanHagar felt more pop-ish to me.

I'm with you. For a long time I was anti-Sammy because I am a fan of the original band, and I agree with Hagar they went "Pop"-ish. Still some of the stuff they did was pretty good. Ya can't beat the early stuff though. It's a shame they can't get along. Their feuding has cost us a lot of great rock and roll...
