Drew had another receiver in mind when he spotting Ted behind the coverage. He said he didn't get his feet planted right

That is probably true. Brees has always been a QB that throws with his whole body, using the torque to launch the football. He HAS to have his feet planted right to make those really deep throws.
A guy like Favre or Staffor could just whip it with his arm because they have such rifles.

Not really. If Drew led him more it would have been fine. Hill had to slow down AND change from a diagonal run to a vertical.
