Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

I remember a few were screaming for us to get this guy and he's about to be replaced by Murray in the draft. He's a POS! Come on you Rosen fans.

Why's he a POS? What's he done?

Yes. Trade Teddy for him.

Because he wore an anti-Trump hat apparently. Others have a bone to pick with him cause he felt he should've been drafted higher.

The Cardinals are a mess and just made one of the dumbest coaching hires imaginable. Rosen was one of the worst QBs last year thrown out to the wolves but I don't think he's the entire team's problem. They are dysfunctional, just fired a first year coach and the team all around had several issues on both sides of the ball.

It's too early to call him a bust. On the other hand, I think he may have been doomed from the start by going to such a dysfunctional organization like Arizona.

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

I've thought he was an arrogant POS the entire time and didn't want him anywhere near this team. I think there should be a highlight reel of him getting hit by 250-300 lb men.

Who cares? Trump is an absolute disaster. So what if he is anti-trump? So are most reasonably intelligent people. I don’t care if he’s pro Putin. If he helps us get a ring I’m all for it. Not that he would be that much of a difference maker.

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

I get so tired of the Trump/Anti-Trump divide. It infects every single community and makes it hard for society to even get along. The truth is Trump isn't anywhere near great as Trump or his supporters think or anywhere near as bad as the media or the crazy radical leftists want to believe. He's like a focal point for everyone to point at and act out some subconscious neurosises that have built in society over the last 20-30 years. He's a complete non-factor that everyone thinks is either the second coming of Jesus or Hitler.

CheramieIII 02-28-2019 01:17 AM

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

Iwas calling him a POS because of his play not his politics.

CHA_CHING 02-28-2019 06:37 AM

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

I apologize for mentioning his anti-Trump deal. I thought that was why he was being called a POS (seen it on another NFL forum I post on), and I am truly sorry for derailing this topic with that pointless comment. It's on me, I apologize.

It's easy to blame the QB for a team's problems, but Arizona was a dumpster fire all around. Rosen didn't play any better than Bradford or Glennon whom were also on the roster.

Their o-line was the worst in the league last year and their running game was abyssal too ranking dead last most of the year.

This article was written back in December detailing how AZ was last in every major offensive statistical category.

The Cardinals Are Last In Every Major Offensive Category

Rosen looks like a bust so far, but I seriously think he was thrown into a bad situation. Arizona is a dumpster fire organization. They just fired a first year head coach and made one of the biggest WTF coaching hires with Kingsbury; whom had a losing record as a head coach in college last year, but they seemingly forgot about his shortcomings and are trying to find the next Sean McVay (Kingsbury was Mahomes' QB coach in college and is thus credited for that).

I don't think he is the real problem with that team. They would've been a mess last year even with an elite QB starting behind that bad o-line. The real shame of that organization has been completely wasting the career of Larry Fitzgerald, whom has continued to stay there when he could've easily went and chased a ring with a better team.

Kind of pre mature with the "bust" talk on Rosen. Before people dump on the kid, has anyone seen that offensive line he had in 2018? ... It's "offensive".

Does Kingsbury really expect the likes of a TINY Kyler Murray (if they select him) to save this team? That Cardinals O line has got to be one of, if not the worst in the league.

Build around him. They need help.

Hard to believe that the Klingsbury hiring will get them going in the right direction, and drafting Murray would be another step backwards

Good points. I believe Rosen was put in a horrible situation being drafted by a team that is completely dysfunctional.

It could get better for him though. Remember Alex Smith in those early years with SF? Many of us thought he was a bust early on, yet as his career went on, he had some decent years. He even had a good year as a game manager in SF. Andy Reid got the best out of Smith IMO. Maybe Rosen could get a coach like Reid later on that helps him.

Well he still have plenty of time to become the best. For now its Mayfield in the drivers seat by a mile.

Darnold, Allen and Rosen all had pretty much the same stats passing. They all looked decent at times but they need more wapons around them.

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

Didn’t Drew Brees have a slow start his first couple years and get replaced by another QB in the draft? If Payton likes Rosen I think something could happen because I think after Arizona drafts Murray it is possible they could trade Rosen for a 2020 3rd round pick and a capable backup QB. Rookie Rosen is better than rookie Goff and Payton is better than McVay. Either of our backups would be good to pair with Murray. We dont have the picks to get an elite QB to replace Brees unless we shop second hand.

Beastmode 04-23-2019 05:11 AM

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

I recall Payton Manning's first year. When he screwed up (often) it was written off as rookie mistakes in that 3-13 season.

Brees was not the starter his rookie campaign. Doug Flutie commanded the ship. Brees didn't turn the corner for a few years. He wasn't written off either until the injury.

Mayfield was not the starter either. Then they had a coaching change mid season and a starting RB change in Chubb. Totally changed the dynamics of that team.

Rosen will be fine. He needs time to develop and a better organization. I agree though, he looks like a damp firecracker right now but not any different than Manning and Brees out the gate.

As for his hat politics, nobody cares about hats. I hate the hats of all teams we play.

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

Rosen was one of the top teen tennis players in the country. One point he was ranked 10th. Isn't Brees a damn good tennis player. Seems like I read that somewhere.

Obviously different sports but there is a connection with agility, accuracy, intelligence with QB and tennis.

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

It appears Rosen is already toast in AZ. The fact that "they want him gone" says a lot of how they feel about his play.

This close to the draft, everything we've read or heard could be a smokescreen.

To be continued ...

Yes. Brees was the top ranked player in the state of Texas and beat future professional Andy Roddick twice in tournaments.

I would take Rosen over Bridgewater in a straight up trade. Know it won't happen but man, the kid has potential for a long time. Behind a Good line he's going to kill it.

The coach that drafted Rosen is gone. I’m sure the new coach wants his own guy. Rosen has a really high ceiling. He’d be a good fit here in New Orleans. I’m still hoping Teddy pans out with another year learning the offense. If we traded for Rosen I’m positive Teddy walks next year. However, competition is part of the NFL. If we made a move for him I wouldn’t be upset.

Beastmode 04-23-2019 01:29 PM

Re: Anyone still want Josh Rosen?

Could you imagine Brees retiring then we get Rosen who starts putting up Brees numbers. It would be the nastiest NFC South QB transition in history. We'd be set for another 15 years.

It's only one season...

Remember, Brees was a mediocre play-action pass QB until he got to New Orleans. Nearly losing his ability to play, coupled with the devastation of H. Katrina he witnessed, gave him focus, perspective, made him who he is...

In all my years of watching football, I can tell you that of all the great players, maybe four or five were truly great in spite of the coach, the rest needed the right coach, system, and timing for it to fall together...

Do you really think Tom Brady or Joe Montana have the success they have with another team, another system, another coach?

I would give our 2nd and a 6th for him and a 4th. Zona will be begging people to take him. Then turn around and trade TB for a 3rd or 4th.

TB is an over paid and overrated player. Rosen would cost half and would be under contract for 2 extra years.

I will laugh so hard if he goes to New England and suddenly becomes a decent quarterback.

Been saying this since last year - Rosen was not the problem in AZ. He's a young, shell shocked QB who was behind a horrendous o-line and a massively dysfunctional organization.

The QB is like the president. When things are going well, people love the president. When things are going bad, they are the easiest person to blame.

If Buffalo will commit to Sean McDermott through 2021, and keep the same OC and/or QB Coach to develop Allen, maintain stability and cohesion, that is the one team that could knock the Patriots off the AFC East Perch...

The Fish (Miami) have an owner who has to be the smartest guy in the room; and don't forget, he's the guy that had the only adult in the room (Jeff Ireland) leave...

And about the best thing the Jets will have going for them is a SuperFan with an old style Fireman's hat; that team's decisions are ruled by day-to-day fan polls...

Who are we going to trade Bridgewater to? Miami? The only team that showed interest and Teddy just spurned his hometown team in Free Agency to remain a backup? Bridgewater has no trade value at this time - none...

A title contender with a division, conference leading record who's QB goes down mid-season is about the only way Bridgewater's trade value can rebound at this point - like it or naught, he's ours now...

I disagree as well. TB has plenty potential as well and has been to the probowl. The kid has the tools, dont write him off cause played one game in which he had a o-line worst than Arizona's and the most vanilla play calling to deal with.

I completely agree. Has anyone looked at his stats? In two years as a starting qb with the viqueens he had 28 tds, 21 into and only 6100 yards. Would anyone on her accept those numbers after drew????? He is bottom line overrated. He’s a more injured Jason Campbell. His windup is more on line with a softball pitcher.
