But Rez, what if the light goes off for him this season and he shines out in the slot like Lance Moore of old, isn't that a good thing?

Get some aren't buying into him; hell, I was turned off when Brees, uncharacteristically of him, public berated him on the field for not lining up correctly before; but if he's turning into the guy now that the Saints signed?

Yes but Sean Payton is very loyal to veteran players and coaches ... Ted Ginn Jr, Carr, Tommy Lee, Arnold etc.

Totally agree with you about Payton, and not disputing - just pointing out that Lance Moore didn't dance onto the scene until Year 3 and that opinions may be one season premature regarding Austin Carr...

I don’t know about Dez but I’ll take Butler or Humphrey over Carr solely on potential cause Carr has hit his ceiling and will never be Moore or even Snead...

My thought process says the Saints coaches value experience over potential. Not saying Carr is worth a roster spot but gotta believe Sean trust guys who know his system, the playbook, routes etc.

But i still believe Austin is a wasted roster spot

From the NFL, Saints Cuts thread, repeat a response to a post that suggested Carr was not comparable to Lance Moore, so I compared their numbers for perspective...
