Re: USA Today/Saints Wire: Saints' interest in pass rushers is not about Marcus Davenport
They know the defense is what was bailing us out for the past month and a half.
My dream scenario is that we build a dominant, juggernaut defense like the 2015 Broncos and go on to win a SB with defensive play. |

Re: USA Today/Saints Wire: Saints' interest in pass rushers is not about Marcus Davenport
Not a bad thing to have too many pass rushers, but I do think Davenport deserves the right to start. He played better than Okafor all year at both rushing the passer and defending the run. However, I’m not sure he can stay healthy until he learns more about that part of the game... adding Quinn would be great.
With adding Brown and Edwards we are solid, toss Quinn into the mix and this might be the best Dline in the league. |

Re: USA Today/Saints Wire: Saints' interest in pass rushers is not about Marcus Davenport
I believe the Saints coaches really like what they see in Davenport & feel he may be ready to become the "man". Pre injury, he was a monster in actual games. Oaks departure will sting slightly, however I understand why they are going after another (Ansah/Quinn) pass rushing specialist.
Hot take ... Davenport will have an above average season . |

I'm not concerned ... if Davenport and Quinn are both playing well then move Cameron Jordan to an interior rushing spot on passing downs to get all 3 on the field.

Davenport should be a monster this year. Losing Okafor hurt and we need his replacement not another starter. Davenport should get the most snaps and our new body will be in the rotation to keep everybody fresh.

I am worried about Rankins more so than anyone else. Davenport should be fine. I really hope Rankins can come back from his injury. We really lost a vital piece after he went down.
