Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft
Sigler is reporting there may be more idiocracy coming this draft and it is the same kind of BS trade (i.e. Ricky Williams) that always fails - always...
It takes 53 men - 5-3 to have a winning team - there are just too many problems when you put all your capital into one or a few player(s)... Uber player gets hurt, you're done - Uber player is a bust, you're done - Uber player plays solidly, like other first rounders, you're still done... Haven't we learned from our mistakes? The perennial contenders in the Superbowl win year in, year out through the draft... No, not every player pans out, but the more picks, players you're able to get, the better your odds for landing more talent, and spreading it around... Amazes me how much the 2017 draft showed what happens when you have more selections - and yet Payton/Mickster the following year reverts back to overspending on Free Agents, throwing draft capital... Payton is like a f*cking an unchecked DC politician continuing to spend, operate further & further in a deficit (talent deficit for this team); Saints need a check and balance on personnel decisions... If Sigler is hearing talk of this happening, it'll thoroughly end the Brees run, and likely without another Lombardi... |

They've got excellent scouting divisions and those coaches trust the draft process and they've got better winning percentages, division, conference, league championships... We've got a great personnel man in Jeff Ireland, Saints FO needs to back off and let this man collect and reload talent... We keep trading up constantly making a splash, and even then we're barely hitting 50-50 doing it that way - and we're getting fewer talented players... Stop the Insanity, Sean, Stop the Insanity... |

I wouldn’t read too much into meeting with Ed Oliver. If anything, we’ve probably heard Atlanta wants him and we’re doing opposition research.

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft
Saints really need to trade back AND trade up to get as many Day 2 and beginning Day 3 (Rounds 3, 4, 5) as possible...

2017 Pats drafted 4 players, only one (Wise) made the team. 2018 Pats drafted 9 ...only 1 (Sony Michel) was a contributor. The draft is a crap shoot. |

As for word about this Oliver kid, or any other rookie, concerning what the Saints, or any other franchise, is thinking ... I don't believe any of it. You know this time of the off-season is the season for misinformation. If anything is leaked out it is most likely the furthest thing from what is actually being discussed. Besides, each team has a certain number of interviews/visits allotted and all franchises should be looking ahead to when this current crop of rookies become free agents in four years, or so. |
