All I hear is hear say. Personally I couldn't care any less about Hakim. I don't see him as really making a difference for us.

Az Hakim signs with the Saints
Az-Zahir Hakim has finally found a place to call home (for the time being). After flipfloping on a decision to sign with the Chiefs, the veteran receiver has agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints. Hakim was a rising star with the St. Louis Cardinals before spending a few disappointing and injury riddled seasons with the Detroit Lions. The specifics of the deal should become available later today, but one thing is for certain; it will only be a one year contract. Az Hakim must prove himself before a team will consider signing him to a longterm deal. The New Orleans Saints may prove to be nothing more than a transitional team for Hakim. They already have a Pro Bowl veteran in Joe Horn as well as two speedy and talented youngsters in Donte Stallworth and Devery Henderson. They have been actively looking for a veteren wideout to play the slot position until one of those youngsters matures enough to play that role. http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/a...eans200605.php |

hmmm, interesting... this article is false. He isn't officially signed as of now. There has been talk that terms have been agreeed to but no signing. Once signed it has to go to the NFL management committe for approval which is why he is in NO. The Cheifs had signed him but the contract went to the NFL for approval because the Chiefs were trying to sign him to a league min. for vet so they can get credit... well the league disapproved the contract and Hakim is a free man, supposedly going to sign with NO but... its VERY POSSIBLE its a negociation tactic on Hakim to get what he wants out of KC...
No and Hakim apparently reached a verbal agreement but whats ones word these days right. |

I don't understand why the league rejected it. Someone please explain.

Not sure I think it was numbers... the team was trying to get credit for the league min. for vets and there were a few questions and i's and t's not crossed. So it went back to KC to get hashed out. Apparently that isn't the only trouble they had... Hakim signed and started practicing with the team some say he was watching only some say he was on the field participating... in any case a player can not be in the facilities in any form until there has been a signed deal approved by the league, unless its a "TRY-OUT". But you can see the problem if you have a contract you are trying to get approved by the league then try-outs are over, player can not be around until deal is done. So shame on KC. Doesn't look like any penalties KC will suffer from it but raised eyebrows with league officials and I am sure they heard words and will start being looked at a bit more suspiciously.

I wouldn't call it a circus... KC can use his services... and they tried to make light of it and seems Dick and company aren't doing things by the book. Seems like a circus for us since the Saints are going to be involved in this... I think he could possible turn some heads this year as long as he keeps progressing and improbing fumbles.
