It is pretty outdated. Even with the recent upgrades. The bathrooms are a dump and probably the worst public restrooms I’ve ever encountered.
It’s iconic and it’s the home of the Saints but it’s a pretty crappy stadium.

I guess he forgot how crappy the fulton county stadium was.

I read the headline and figured the Falcons had done some of their general low life classless sh1t and hurt someone.

It's functional. The seats are comfortable, you can get a beer/take a leak in 5 minutes, and the stands are close to the field.

I'll pass on the pyrotechnics, oversized scoreboard, sushi and craft beer if it keeps my season ticket cost down. It's a stadium, not a freaking country club

I'm sure the bathrooms were included in a more recent upgrade. I remember when the men's rooms were shareable troughs. They are now individual urinals. I was last there for the Eagles playoff game in January and didn't have any issues with the bathrooms.

I never get food at a game, so I personally have no (hot) dog in the hunt. Beer, that's another matter.

You may not want those things but a lot of people do. Things like that bring more Super Bowls (and other national sporting events) to the city which is great for the economy. Right now we are one of the leagues favorite locations for the Super Bowl but the more out dated the Dome gets the less of a chance we have of getting future bids.
A “new” stadium could mean a lot to this city. We need to stop being happy with just “serviceable “ when it comes to anything in this city. The roads are “serviceable “.
By “new” I don’t mean replacing the dome. The Dome is a legendary symbol in New Orleans and is part of a skyline that is as unique as our city. There are good bones there, just redo it.

That's what we are pointing out. Since the Dome was completely gutted in 2006, including all wiring and from what I understand most of the plumbing, it has been "rebuilt". Since 2007 it has had a series of MAJOR upgrades to bring it in line with other venues hoping to regularly host the Super Bowl, and other major events. This new series of upgrades will continue down that path. They are doing EXACTLY what you are wishing they would do.

And, the stadium is only a part of the sales pitch
Seems like the city could look at security, transit, cleanliness, etc in addition to revamping a 50 year old stadium.

In reality, the stadium is less than 15 years old. Following Katrina the Dome was stripped down to a bare shell and totally redesigned throughout.
