My dad was a Captain in the 102nd "Ozarks" and wounded in the battle of the Ardennes . He was hit by shrapnel just below his left knee and tended to by a captured German doctor. Interestingly I have birth mark that looks like his scar but on my right knee! He didn't speak much of his war experience. I became interested in WWII while doing research on his outfit.
