Trading for Tebucky?

The difference is, he hasn\'t put up a Peerless Price season. He hasn\'t been able to maintain a starting position regardless of his \"marvelous physical skills.\" Let\'s just hope he loses the franchise tag because he isn\'t a franchise player. On the flip side, when Mel Kiper was asked about this trade on his audio chat, he stated that Tebucky was on the cusp of greatness.

SFin Austin, I dont know what you mean by starting but no one on the patriot defense
played more snaps than Jones. He plays all the special teams KO,KR,Punt and PR, and Onside. After KO he did not play the first couple of downs to catch a blow. We had Milloy, Green and Jones back there all three played at the same time back there. with TBuck playing a hybyrd olb/FS position. He is so good on special teams that it was worth the drop off from him to victor Green/Antwan Harris on the downs after speacial teams. He was bought in as a corner under Pete Carrol can could not mater the one on one coverage skils for a starting corner on a playoff team. But he has superior coveage skills for a 220 lb safetey

One thing for Jones is he would be a no-brainer upgrade over Jay Bellamy at the level he has played at, nevermind the level he could play to. He is more athletic, better in coverage and from I\'ve seen, a better tackler. Oh god, Bellamy and his \"gimme five\" tackles the last couple years almost made me cry every game.
The problem with bringing in Jones is that they plan to start Mel Mitchell at the other safety spot, and a big, fast and athletic as he is as well, he\'s very, very green. Jones is no proven veteran leader and Mitchell needs a veteran presence if he is expected to develop. Bellamy could fill that from the bench possibly as hopefully his mind still knows what he should have been doing on the field.

I\'m glad to see that the Saints are the topic of conversation among established media outlets and not for a bad reason. The Saints can really make some moves that could keep us in contention for years to come. I hope they make the right ones.

I don\'t think the new orleans saints are the type of team that pulls of blockbuster trades. From what I read in the Boston Globe if tha pats don\'t trade jones by the end of day, the trade wont happen. As far as the other rumors about trading for c. woodson and b. urlacher, all I say is yeah right

Trading for Tebucky?

gator\'s quote:

\"Word is Jones is asking for a deal that would average $5-6 million a year, and Darius isn\'t far behind. Thus, lies the problem.

As franchise players, both are now counting $3 million against their team\'s cap. If they don\'t get traded or get a new deal from their current teams before 4 p.m. ET Friday, they likely won\'t get a new one from their current teams until mid-July. \"

why would these 2 guys be asking for 5-6 million per year, when the average of the top 5 salaries (franchise player salary) for safetys is only 3 million? :casstet: that just seems a bit outrageous for a safety to be makin 5-6 million when some starting qbs dont make that much
