The Saints have it on paper. I have no hesitation about saying that. The Saints should have been in the Super Bowl last year and should have played Philly for the right to go two years ago. Stuff happens.

If we can survive our division we will be the clear favorites. Atl was decimated with injuries last year and will be back with a vengeance. Carolina is always dangerous, and somehow we lost to TB and Fitzmagic last year.

The Eagles and Rams lost a lot in FA, which leaves us and Minn at the top

I can’t argue with that. I think the Falcons are going to be our biggest challenge and we own them under Payton.

The Saints were a very good team last year and only one play kept them out of the Super Bowl.

Considering that with the exception of losing Ingram and the injury to Rankins, the Saints will start the season on par or better at nearly every position, with the receiving corps seeing a major upgrade. The main question is see is if McCoy can step in for Unger.

Football Outsiders is wrong. Chris Simms and Colon Cowherd told me so.

I agree with you fellas that Atlanta will be our biggest test, I have felt this way for months.

They pretty much had the same kind of 7-9 year we used to have, being crippled with injuries and losing close winnable games.

100% agree. Everyone keeps going on about the non-call but for me, our season was lost last year when the offense declined and hit the floor hard following the Dallas game. Something broke in the offense with that Dallas game and it was never fixed. Lack of depth came back to haunt us big time and would've been a key factor in the SB vs a Patriots team that would've game planned to take away our only two weapons on offense.

Adding Cook and expanding on WRs was key this off season to preventing this from happening again.

It all comes down to now if we have the same hunger from last year, can avoid injuries and how Brees holds up at 40 years old. Brees is my biggest concern after watching Manning in his last year.

Manning was hampered by a debilitating neck injury. Brees is currently as healthy as a horse. Big difference.

Manning's neck injury resulted in him missing the 2011 season. He had a groin and foot injury that came out after Denver's 2014 playoff loss to Indy.

I think it's debatable if Brees got hurt late in the season last year, cause his collapse in the final month went eerily similar to Peyton's in 2014 and something was not right with his accuracy. I saw the guys from B&G Report on Twitter talk about Brees' throwing motion looking different late in the season from early on and they've debated if he got hurt late in the year.

I made the comparison to Manning's 2014 season cause we were almost a mirror image of that old Broncos team. They had a week 11 loss where their offense only scored 10 points and then would struggle the rest of the year. Denver transitioned from an offensive juggernaut to beating teams with strong defensive play and turnovers. Manning went from MVP candidate in 2014 to his efficiency stats tanking, not unlike how Brees was in the MVP debate until the final month of the season. We had that same transition last year after the Dallas loss.
