Fighting at practice with rookies is one thing but it's not carrying over to actual, meaningful games.

I'll be frank here. Trey has shown little improvement in 3 years at the position. Adequate pass rusher & gets swallowed up against the run (setting the edge) + he had a diminished role in 2018. I was really hoping Carl Granderson would become the next gem of a pass rusher in New Orleans. Easy to see why we looked at Quinn and Ziggy Ansah this off season.

After Cam and Davenport it gets really dicey ... Mario Edwards, Wes Horton and Porter Gustin.

IMO we have yet to replace Alex Okafor.

With Trey, all I see is depth. Nothing more.

Yeah the dimished role last year is a bad sign, being healthy scratches for a whole bunch of games. His run support is just not good. He needs to fix that with a quickness before he hits the field in meaningful action.

But as a previous writer pointed out, he almost gets sacks .

I don’t see Davenport doing much better. Hasn’t hit his ceiling yet but he sure hasn’t come out swinging.

Davenport was very good before the injury in 2018. I'm not concerned about the 1st pre season game where he was doubled on a couple of his limited snaps. That freed up Trey with one on one (where he failed to win) match ups.

Again, this is year 3 for TRex. What's his (this article is on Trey) problem?

OK. This article is just stupid. Davenport is going into his second year and was considered raw coming out. He looked like a monster at times last year even playing with a bad toe. And Hendrickson? He'll probably make the roster but not on merit alone.

AT&T isn't running CBS now. Thank god most of our games are on Fox....I can't believe that I just said that! Anyway, all I got to see were the highlights. We weren't impressive. But Hendrickson is never going to be the answer to improve our D-line.

Was high on Trey last preseason, but now I see him as a depth/situation guy. Occasionally shows up, but disappears too often.

Also has an issue overrunning too many plays

It's great he can fight with mostly rookies in practice, its the only way he wins because he does nothing come regular season.

1. Yup
2. Yup
3. Yup. The answer to improving our DLine this year depends on Davenport's development. If teams can get away with doubling Cam without pressure from the opposite side our secondary will look really bad.
