Oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh. Damn, I see where you are coming from now. My bad. This line:

I was just saying that we got over the curse of Jake in week 17. For a while there, I thought we would never beat him.
Okay, I can dig where you are coming from now. I have been in too many debates with thinly veiled knocks at Jake and pump ups of AB and my thinking was jaded. Okay, gotcha now. Like I said, the only time I root against him is when he plays us, so I can dig it. Again, my bad. I think we are pretty much on the same page.

.. but we do see Jake objectively...

... we don't think he won playoff games by himself...
... we don't think he's the best QB to ever don a Saints uniform...
... we don't think his stats are all that ...
... we know he doesn't have the strongest arm...
... we know he can't run very well...

and we also know that:

... he gives credit when due and takes responsibility for his actions...
... recognizes he's got shortcomings and works to correct them...
... he doesn't leave his teammates out to dry if front of the media nor puts them down in front of the media...
... he's a leader...

... and "we" didn't get over any "curse"... The Panthers are a better all around team than the Saints. That they were almost in the playoffs with so many injured starters is a testament to that...

It was a joke. There have been some heartbraking losses to the Panthers lately and the Saints got over the hump. And if you didn't notice the game 2 years ago where the refs took a safety off the board and made 3 calls that they actually sent a letter of apology for.....that felt a little "curse-like". And the game where "he hate me" beat us with the kick return. They've had the Saints' number of late...can I say that?

The fact that the Saints were almost in the playoffs was equally amazing.
Injuries schminjuries....it's the freaking NFL.
Truth be told, I like Carolina better than just about any other NFC team. They have a good coach that we coulda had and a good QB that we coulda had. Everything lined up for 'em in '03 and their fortunes turned in '04. Better them than the Saints in my book.

Thanks whodi. If you'll notice, that's why I kept saying that I think Jake is better than AB. I realize that the Jake AB debate is polarizing around here. I was just saying, that, as a Saints fan, I'm trying to get over it.

I also realize that people will take any chance to fire away on one side or the other....and I wasn't trying to do that. I just saw the highlights again and it stuck out to me that Jake had a disappointing game. I really expected to lose that game cuz Jake always brought his A game vs. the Saints. The fact that they shook him off and won really convinced me that they may be able to make a run at the Falcons in the playoffs. Things were starting to turn our way...and then we got hosed.

Bottom line.

end of story!

..so what if he's a home boy favorite...

... why are you a fan of the Saints? Because they are from Kentucky?? NO! Because the team is based in New Orleans... can't really say the team is from New Orleans, because I don't think 2% of the team hails from within the State of Louisiana...

Jake Delhomme is a home boy... he's got a great attitude, and is a better QB than Brooks to booth
Everybody have their opinion...Mine just not the same as yours!!!
