Can you point me to this rule? The best I can find is:
Quote:

Any practice squad player is free to sign to any other team’s active roster at any time during the season, without any compensation to their original team.

I can't find any language that indicates that the current practice squad team of a player has any options in terms of keeping a player if another team signs them to their active roster.

As far as keeping just three RB's with Kamara as the lead, I personally believe it signals the Saints are going to be more pass orientated and will run the ball less. I can't see them pounding Kamara and Murray is just above average at best to begin with. A really big step down from Ingram. Seeing as how the Saints are in win now mode, letting Ingram go was a mistake. Are they still good enough? Sure. But, if Kamara gets scuffed up, it's going to be a struggle.

Totally agree about going a little less balanced although other than Cook I really don’t know that we have any more receiving talent than last year. Add the loss of Ingram’s pass catching ability and we are right back to last year.
At least it doesn’t look like we will have to go out dredging ditches for over the hill players if the injury bug hits.

I'm pretty happy with this practise squad. Wish Ozigbo would have been on it but it is what it is.

Yeah I love what we’ve done. We have some real horses in Butler, Humphrey, Arnold and Mack. Those are all guys who could be on the 53 man roster next year if not sooner.

I’m very intrigued by OT Derrick Kelly. With a little more seasoning he could be our answer to back-up swing tackle.

I really like the John Leglue signing. Versatile & very smart. Like his potential way better than our 2018 4th Rd pick's potential.

And, no, I'm no Tulane homer.
