This game also shows that Sean needs to change his preseason routine of letting the 1st string offense barely get any snaps. That's why they looked flat at the start. Same with the Defense. They need more snaps in the preseason.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
I think a lot of teams will be rethinking the preseason strategy after this week. Most teams looked very rusty. I understand the "injury" angle, but even veterans need some work prior to the season starting. Big difference between practise/scrimmage and a real game.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
Unbelievable game. We need Onyemata back. Run D must improve. Lack of pass rush forced us to blitz too much. Hendrickson played better than Davenport. Dennis Allen again with this 3rd defense...
Offense was very good. Murray will get more touches vs other opponents. We saw glimpses off Jarred Cook potential in saints offense. He should be able to dominate with Sean Payton play calling. Yeah, Wil Lutz is the man! |

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
We beat a legit playoff team out of the AFC. There’s room for improvement but I’m just happy we got the win. I’m pleased with the Kamara/Murray backfield and of course with Mike.
I expect a little more from Lattimore even if Hopkins is the best of the best at the position. Make those catches a little harder to reel in. If he pulls them down in traffic then oh well, but I expect a little better positioning. Tough sledding for an opening night game. 6 sacks though? Love that. |

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
The defensive back play is so disappointing not because of Hopkins that’s a given it’s the techn . The tackling , out of place in crucial spots it’s bs to me,

Saw a replay of that Marcus Williams INT ...
He covered over 30 yards to go get it. That was pretty impressive to me. This is what he did extremely well in college. |
