I would say he is not elite, YET. He sure has the talent to be elite and I think he looked good yesterday.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
They showed 1 clip of Tunsil stoning Davenport, that’s after Tunsil poked him in the eye. A lot of what Marcus did won’t show up on the stat sheet. I saw a guy that put Tunsil in Watson’s Lap numerous times, allowing other guys to get those sacks.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
Hear hear! I have no major complaints on Davenports performance. Some issue with contain but that happened all across the board.

PJ Williams didn’t have a terrible game considering that the Texans have some pretty good slot WRs. Once again, he was good in short areas but doesn’t have long speed. Be also made some big tackles. Even on that pass to Stills he wasn’t beat bad, it was a great pass but a bad coverage call for the situation. That slant that Lattimore got beat on wasn’t either CBs fault, it was a nice pass through a hole in zone coverage. If anything it was Anazlone’s fault because he decided to pickup a WR running a drag in man coverage leaving the middle open. Defense definitely needs some work but I didn’t expect them to shut down the Texans offense. 1-0 is all that matters and we are a game up on the entire division! |

Was it Tampa last season 1st game torching us deep . Somebody studied our Dbacks to a tee. Our tendencies in certain formations will get us beat early and late. It worked out this one.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
I think a lot of teams will be rethinking the preseason strategy after this week. Most teams looked very rusty. I understand the "injury" angle, but even veterans need some work prior to the season starting. Big difference between practise/scrimmage and a real game.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
I don’t think we looked rusty. I think we played a legit contender with a superstar QB and the best WR in football.

Re: Texans @ Saints MNF Game Day Thread
We definitely came out rusty, disjointed, with no fluidity, flow to the offense...
Did it get better? Of course it did? But we need more first team snaps as a unit before a trap game like the Texans... |
