Reminder that we had not one, but TWO shots at bringing Wade Phillips to New Orleans for defensive coordinator... we let him go back to Denver in 2015 and then to the Rams in 2017... all to keep Allen.

People screamed at me all of last year on SR forums for saying I'd rather have Wade Phillips than Allen. I don't care how bad the Rams defense looked at times last year, I would STILL take him over Allen.

Hopkins is one of the best in the biz in a game favoring the offense. You are right lattimore or any really good cb will lose eventually

The people arguing Allen > Wade constantly brought up that the Rams defense was bad last year. Bad at times yes, but still took care of business when it mattered. They sure shut us down in the 4th quarter of the NFCCG, non-call aside.

Holding the Pats to 13 points was no piece of cake either. I'm 90% sure Allen's defense would've gave up 24+ points against that same Pats offense in the SB.
