Brees Injury Assessment
I'm NOT a doctor but have spent about a year and a half in PT for a couple of hand injuries.
If I had to guess it's serious ligament damage. His thumb is basically useless. He put tape on it then took it off. The tape did nothing so he said screw it. He was not trying to throw or moving that thumb. It will take a LONG time to heal. 6-7 months for average folk. He might be able to recover in 5 tops. I could be totally WRONG but that is what I see from experience of having hand injuries, being around people with them. It will heal but it takes time. He will be back or close to it end of season. Good news is there was no severe swelling form what I could see. That is a good sign. Swelling occurs with broken bones and severe bruising. It look like ligament damage which is MUCH better than broken. |
