The most he'd do for us is help us tank.
Eli has had two legit RB's, two legit WR's (one a crackhead), and probably the worst OL year in and year out in the NFL for his whole career. He's has two rings. His time has past on bad teams. The Colts should have got him. They have the team around him where he could at least get them in the playoffs. Other than that, a desire to keep playing and money are the only two reasons for him to continue.

This is Eli's all time win/loss record.

If his last name wasn't 'Manning' and he didn't have those 2 fluke rings, no one would be defending him.

RBs do not matter and Eli has had some decent ones in NY, as well as some strong defensive units and even some legit WRs (Odel, Cruz, Plaxico, Tyree, etc). Running Back is the most inter-changeable position in the entire NFL. As I have stated on this board many times; Walter Payton is the GOAT RB in my opinion and he only got one ring... in the only year Chicago had an above average passing game, good QB play (one of the few years McMahon had a good year and was healthy) with a top ANY/A that year and a historical ranked defense. Barry Sanders' Lions only won a single playoff game and ironically, it didn't come in one of the few years they had good QB play like 1994 and 1995. Many people think Barry Sanders is the GOAT RB and yet it didn't matter in any of the years during his prime, the Lions weren't going anywhere cause they had bad QB play.

The Giants were idiots to draft Barkley instead of a QB for the future and everyone said that. I don't care if he's the next Walter Payton or Barry Sanders. He didn't fix their offense cause the guy throwing to him and handing the ball off, has been profoundly mediocre his entire career.

Eli has been nothing short of mediocre at best. He led the league in INTs right before they drafted Odell. The Giant should've moved on after 2014 but they didn't.

The truth is, the NFL’s eighth all-time leading passer has produced like a below-average starter across his entire career. That average contains some really low points, like his miserable 27-interception 2013 season, when he finished 35th in passer rating in a league with just 32 teams.

But that is as close as Manning has come to truly poor play. That reliability — that no matter how much he teases us with flashes of greatness, he at least definitely won’t be bad — has prompted the Giants to lean on him for more than a decade. What’s more, he’s rewarded that trust: Tonight, Manning will make his 212th consecutive start, the longest active Ironman streak in the NFL — and third-longest in the history of the league.

I don't care about his 2 rings.... There's been plenty of mediocre QBs win SB rings (Dilfer, Rypien, Flacco, etc). The 2007 Giants don't get to the SB without the Packers choking all over themselves at home in the NFCCG. The week before that, Dallas choked all over themselves (after sweeping them in the regular season). Then in the SB, everyone forgets that Assante Samuel dropped what would've been the game sealing INT. The Giants needed a miracle helmet catch to stay alive and on that same drive, Eli was nearly picked off twice. They won in spite of him. He didn't play all that great.

In 2011, they avoided us in the NFCCG and then the Niners just choked the game away on special teams play. In their SB rematch with NE, Eli didn't play all that great in that game either. He posted one of the worst stat lines for a QB to win SB MVP honors. Even though he didn't throw a bunch of picks, his stats were bad. And the real play that swung that game was Wes Welker's big dropped pass.... The Pats would've scored again and put that game out of reach for good.

It amuses me that people will bash Peyton, call him a choker and all this, but he has the stats and accomplishments to back up why he is going to be an automatic entry into the Hall of Fame soon. Yet Eli don't have any of that and people still defend him cause his last name is Manning and he has 2 rings. The idea of him being a Hall of Famer just cause he has 2 rings is enough to make me truly despise the ring argument and all the crowning of RINGZ RINGZ RINGZ more than anything.

Giants fans don't really like the benching. Well, the true Giants fans. They have been saying for years the Giants have poor protection. He may be better off here, but our o-line has taken a hit as well but not as bad. But is it bad enough for Eli?
