I don't know if it's bad play calling or just poor performance. DA will amaze me one game and totally confuse me the next. I also see where the coverage is too soft too often. However, our defense still held the Rams to field goals until they wore down late in the game so I can't throw anyone under the bus just yet.

Re: Aaron Glenn
We have been playing too much zone. Both starting CBs are best at playing press man coverage and we have one of the best coverage LBs in the game as well (Davis). Playing the zone on 3rd down every time is killing us. Simple cover 2 man or cover 1 man scheme is what we should be doing.
But honestly, the coverage scheme doesn't matter if you allow gashing runs to get around the edge, forcing your DBs to make tackles on bigger RBs is not going to help the passing game. Front 7 needs to play better against the run and contain. |
The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.
