Jared Cook
I've never been too high on him. I think people are starting to see that he's not worth what we paid for him. Still, it is a position that we really really needed, and he's better than what we've had. The FA market for TEs was pretty bare, and I think we probably made the right decision signing him. I will defend him and say that he's better than what he's shown in the first 3 weeks. He's not a bad TE, he's just not a legit Pro-Bowler. We really needed a TE that could be somewhat of a threat and I think he'll eventually become that. We just need to be patient.

Re: Jared Cook
Tight End has been a revolving door since Graham left and I do not recall any level of confidence in any name other than Watson since.. Cook is in his 11th season, he isn't getting any better; either the Saints aren't using him correctly or this is what to expect.

Re: Jared Cook
He has been invisible. One drop vs the Rams went for a pick. Another cost us a first.
I was expecting a really big year, but he sucks. |

Re: Jared Cook
Risks were moderate. Age and one stellar season. The stellar season, teams left him wide open in garbage time.
Now that he is drawing tight coverage, can't beat it which, is exactly what happened before the stellar season. Even with that, it was a decent gamble on Payton. TE is the hardest spot to fill IMO. Maybe 3-4 in the entire NFL that are rock solid. Everyone else has huff hands and the agility of a manatee. |

Re: Jared Cook
Just go with younger talent, even if it means suffering through growing pains.
Bring ARNOLD back. Of course, we could've drafted that LSU kid. Oh wait. | |

Re: Jared Cook
I will say, defensively our schedule is stout. Not many TE's would have success but the drops are unacceptable. I doubt he gets a pass this week. Dude is in the doghouse.

Re: Jared Cook
I agree w everything hitta posted. That being said, Drew wouldve coached him up and wouldve made him a better TE or at least wouldve made him look like a better TE. We'll see.

Re: Jared Cook
I doubt he gets targets this week unless Teddy is throwing a what the heck pass. If we are livid with him for Payton it's 10 fold.

Re: Jared Cook
I'd like to say I'm disappointed, but my attitude was less than positive when we signed Cook and I'm not surprised with the results thus far...
That said, he's a professional baller and what ever he can control to make more of a contribution to this team's success, he needs to make it happen... So let's go Jared, time to make it happen... |
