Elway basically won the lottery with Manning falling into his lap. IMO Manning was coming there regardless cause of the 4 teams he had narrowed his free agency down to, Denver had the play makers and potential for him to do something. People forget that they made the playoffs and won a playoff game with Tebow. That was not a horrible offense. Elway has drafted very poorly from the beginning. Von Miller is a left over from the previous front office and before that, Josh McDaniels drafted some decent players like Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker who were essential pieces of the Manning Broncos. I think Elway also gets too much credit for signing ring chasers between 2013 to 2015. They got Demarcus Ware, Wolfe, Talib and they had traded to get Emmanuel Sanders and later Vernon Davis (2015). Those were good moves, but it also goes to show that players are going to want to play for a contender that isn't the Patriots and Denver was the only team to really back up the hype by beating them twice in the playoffs during that time frame. |

I'm happy the Bucs beat the Lambs but it pisses me off even more that we lost to those frauds. The Rams are not that great of team and maybe the experience Arians has facing them helped but Leftwich called a great gameplan for the offense.

Re: Saints vs Cowboys Game Day Thread
The Lions got screwed earlier today. I watched most of that game, but the final drive told a grim tale.
Chiefs needed 2 tick-tacky holding calls to keep the drive alive. (They also got more holding calls that went their way in this game but the final drive had some truly awful ones). Beyond these 2 bad calls, the Lions still had a chance though. Just before the game winning TD, Mahomes throws to the endzone and what would've been the game winning INT was dropped. 2 plays later, they score and win. Mahomes reminds me of Aaron Rodgers with his style of play. He's the new "best talented QB ever", as the label used to be put on Rodgers for years. From watching him though, I feel like he's trying to look for the highlight play and show off his arm strength, opposed to picking a defense apart. The commentators constantly talked about how they missed Hill in this game, but really, his throws were inaccurate when he was trying to throw bombs down field. |

Re: Saints vs Cowboys Game Day Thread
Witten must be non factor in this game. If our LBs or safeties can't guard him then we have serious problem with scheme.
