I can’t understand this love for teddy! The guy is at best a game manager. The defense and ST is playing lights out. SP has done an amazing job changing the game to fit TB. I just can’t give credit to TB when it’s SP, ST and the defense winning the games. Every one is stepping up. This is a complete team who is no longer relying on a HOF qb

Oh brother, same thing every week.. we win, people just wanna complain about Teddy. Look, the defense played great, and yes Payton called a great game. Drew needs Payton to call a great game in order to win too. Sure, Drew can and has carried this team when the defense was playing like hot poo, but that's the difference between future first ballot hall of fame QB's and every other QB. Nobody claims that Teddy is in Drew's league, but he's a good QB capable of leading this team to wins. And by the way, apart from the blocked punt for a safety, special teams did nothing to help us win that game. They were a hindrance most of the afternoon. Teddy played a good game, his biggest mistakes were missing a few throws. He also made some really good ones and didn't shrink away in the face of a pretty fierce pass rush. Even scrambled for a couple of key first downs. I'm tired of all the bellyaching about Teddy. As others have already said, this place is gonna be insufferable once Drew decides to hang it up.

Do you really think crappy QB play couldn't have lost us games in which our D and ST played very well? You'd damn sure be blaming him if we were 0-5 with him behind the wheel regardless of the defense or special teams play so why not give him some credit since he's 5-0 against some very strong teams? Go back to the highlights of this game - he really threaded the needle to 13 a few times including a deep strike with two defenders pretty tight on him. I don't think we've seen just how much Teddy's capable of because we haven't had to. We end up in a few shootouts and he doesn't come through then maybe I'll change my mind but I see a good leader, with poise, strong arm,and damn pretty spiral.
As far as SP changing the game plan to fit TB, isn't that just common sense? I don't see why this should be a negative I never understood those coaches that force their system in regardless on whether it fits their talent or not (cough, cough Spangnolo)

Regardless of how you feel about Teddy or other people feelings about Teddy, I am not entirely sure you understand or have captured the impact of our Special Teams on that Bears game.

Neither a blocked punt nor a safety are common in this league, much less together, and when you manage to turn a teams first possession of a game into a safety after three plays you have impacted their game plan as well as put them on their heals. Then after our offense struggles to get to 3-20 at our 43 Morestead puts them at their 12... you just ate 1/2 the first Quarter off the clock with the only highlights being your defense and Special Teams.

See... There are things that others do not see which you see in Teddy, and there are things others see in our Special Teams that you do not see. No need to get all tired and tuned up about it.

Our special teams has been great overall this year. And the blocked punt for a safety was great. But the 102 yard kickoff return took the wind out of our sails quickly. I think even you said yourself in the game day thread that momentum shifted in their favor after that. Thankfully we got it back, but combining that with 2 missed FG's and a pretty lousy punt from Morstead that gave them good field position on their FG drive and I'd have to say that overall the ST unit was subpar yesterday. They weren't the reason we won the game, in fact their failures contributed heavily to the score staying close for as long as it did.

I think the whole team is doing a great job and yes, that means TB as well! The guy works his tail off to get the job done and no one can complain about that! Great result and if and when Drew decides to call it a day then I would be fine having TB as our starting QB! WHO DAT! GEAUX SAINTS

Yes I did say that.

Do you also remember me commenting in hopes their defense would wear down in the second half? It was 12-10 at the half and our Offense wasnt lighting anything up... 12 points in the first half, 5 of the 12 was Special Teams... (Safety and a field goal).

I am not trying to beat up on Teddy but perspective is needed. How do you feel about TB first half completion % vs Trubisky's?

TB 14-24
Trubisky 13-23

Nothing was interesting about our offense in the first half, even Murry who had a good game was 9-30.
