The needless injury to Eli Apple

has thrown a monkey wrench in our plans to get another WR to help out Michael Thomas

ironic that Thomas' bone headed decision to field a short onside kick lead to Eli being on Soldier Field a few minutes later

How is Eli - not a peep from a Saints injury report ?

I imagine if it was real bad we would have heard by now
hoping it is minor and he can safely rest up past the bye
guy was balling it on the field too

FA WRs Sanders, Sanu gone - and to competitors

rather than being aggressive on our biggest long term need - wide receiver

(short term case like AJ Green could be enough to fight off good defenses down the season - jettison the contract next year)

now we are tied up taking a look at old has been Panther's cbs

In all fairness, Patrick Robinson hurt his hamstring and PJ Williams is still suspended... so we need a little depth.

AT you bring up a great point; Why was MT out there in the first place. Was it really that critical. I would like to hear Payton's reasoning on that one with our best player.

You want your best hands on the field for that play. Thomas misjudged it plain and simple. He’s also dropped a pass or two. Should we consider replacing him on passing downs?

Unfortunate injury for sure but you’re mistaken to correlate it with MT’s play. What about Ginn dropping a TD? Or Lutz missing a FG? Or what Cam Jordan had for breakfast?

So much anxiety...

Pats and Niners OVERPAID for their trades. It’s clear the front office isn’t willing to give that much compensation for a role player WR. Sit tight. I’ll bet you we find the right player

You talk like we have a high school or college sized active roster. We can only dress 45 players on game day. Thomas in on the "hands team" which is where he belongs. They were talking about this very subject on Monday on Moving the Chains on NFL Radio. Kirwan and Miller both stressed that you can't simply sit out players at the end of games when you already have a few already banged up. It's more dangerous bringing in a player not accustomed to filling the role. It can result in injury to himself or others. Football is a violent game and injuries can happen at any time, even if you are simply standing on the sideline.

Why was Dez Bryant "practicing" when he got injured?

Also, I don’t think Mickey Loomis works out DB’s.
