I can’t deny that if this was Teddy everybody would be ****ting on him right now. Brees has been Mr. Checkdown for a while.

Brees has been on a decline since week 10 of last year....

When you post the statistical evidence as proof, people get all pissy and scream at you. But he is 40 years old and his decline really isn't all that different from how Peyton Manning collapsed at the end of the 2014 season. Yes, I know, Manning had injuries in the past, but at 39 years old, his body was breaking down and even he himself admits it now. He entered the 2015 season and just collapsed to the floor.

These guys are not going to play until their 45.

No one is screaming at you. Show it.

I am looking at 2018 vs 2009 and there is very negligible difference between the two years statistically. 2 TDs and 400 total yards.

Obviously there is a natural decline due to age but he is not declining against his peers.

I've posted this before and it was ignored....

His stats tanked to the floor after Thanksgiving last year. They look even worse when you break them down game by game.

The defense was bailing us out of every game after the Cowboys loss, including playoffs. Our offense couldn't stop shooting themselves in the foot against the Eagles in the playoffs, then against the Rams they let that team hang around long enough to eventually steal the game.

Everyone loves to compare a good Saints team to 2009. That was a different season though. Both the Saints and Colts were built similar that year. They had opportunistic defenses and got hot by blowing through some really bad QBs. That was vital in building up the confidence we had heading into the final stretch of the season.

2009 Brees and 2018 Brees were different QBs and the 2009 offense had a lot more weapons on it. All we really had last year was MT and Kamara.

You are comparing two halves of the same season, not full season vs full season. 2018 is over brother. Drew has had multiple bad half seasons when he plays hurt there is nothing earth shattering there. You might want to look at receiver injury reports from 2018 when you aren't busy.

Again, beat your drum all you like. Teddy isn't going in.

You asked for the stats, so I showed them to you.

We were never the same team again after Thanksgiving last year. It's the reason I really don't get all worked up and angry over the non-call in the playoffs (which would've been an INT and possible pick 6 if Nickel-Robey had his eyes on the ball instead of trying to murder the receiver). The way they played for that last month of that season, I was never confident they were beating New England in the SB. We most likely score more than 3 points, but the Pats would've shut us down like every other team had been doing. They had the personnel to follow Dallas' gameplan and execute it well enough.

Everyone blames injuries, o-line and play calling. But fact is; Bree is 40 years old and these guys all hit a decline eventually. It happened to Favre after his big epic season at 40, it happened to Manning at 39, Brady declined last year and looks even worse this year at 42 and it's also happening to Brees.
