Which brings me to my next observation, that he was, in fact, staring down receivers a lot today. He just looked tentative and lost at times. I've said it many times, that if we're going to anoint the man for being captain awesome when he's got 7 seconds to throw the ball, then I think it's reasonable to expect, on an off day for the offensive line, that maybe Drew could just make a few plays off script. There were drops, and I know that didn't help. Everyone outside of Thomas was bad today. I'm just surprised that anyone would give Brees a pass as if he wasn't part of the problem. It just seems like it's always "win as a team, lose as a team" but Drew is somehow detached from this "lose as a team" scenario. I don't think that's accurate or fair. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
