If we can have the Saints front office buy all his clothes for him, and none that crazy stuff he wears currently, I'd consider it. He's obviously getting paid by somebody to wear that crap, and I don't want that in the Saints locker room.

Not sure he's smart enough to handle a complex Saints offense. He might hold on to the ball even longer than Teddy does with his 5 seconds.

Sorry. Why would we want an Attention Whore on the team. And let's be honest - he's an attention whore diva. From the way he dresses, to the way he stays kneeling for an extra couple of seconds after he breaks his teammates out of the huddle, to the stupid superman crap. Everything is about bring attention to himself. No thank you.

Diary of a running QB. Add him to the list; short career and no ring.

Are they talking about moving him to TE? That would make him a bit of a wildcard.

Exactly....
1-I don't think Cam has enough between the ears to grasp Peyton's offense.
2-How many "it's all about me" players have the Saints shown the door to....salary cap and all.

He played 14 games in 2018. He had 24 TD’s and 13 INT’s while completing 68% of his passes. He added 488 yards on the ground and another 5 TD’s. I’m not really sure why his intelligence is coming under fire. I’d love to see him running the scheme they’re building for Taysom.

It’s a no for me. His post-game press conference attire and comments tilt the scale.

Less than 2 PaTd: 1 INT that's the Mendoza Line, but then you figure 24 PaTd in 14 GP, that's only 1.71 PaTd per game, that's below the Mendoza line...

Worse, he's only had one season with more than 24!

And while he did have career accuracy last year, it coincided with the arrival of Christian McCaffrey...

Besides, I like what we've got in-house more...

If not trying to recover a fumble in the Super Bowl is reason enough to call his intelligence into question, his 'style' choice certainly is!

Unlike Taysom... the guy is a closet queen. Does anybody think Payton wants to go camping with him?

He's another Kaepernick waiting to not happen. Some garbage team might pounce on him, but I can't see any winning record team thinking he could improve their QB play... certainly not us.

I've never seen anything from Newton as a player that would suggest he is not smart enough. For me its more about the type of character he seems to be.

As an heir to Brees I'd prefer a pocket QB with a cannon. Mainly because that is the type of football I like to watch.

Chicago would be a better fit, since they're desperate to bring some excitement to that franchise and Trubinsky isn't the future.

The problem is that college isn’t developing QBs like that anymore...the offensive game planning and strategy has changed...more spread, read option...mobile QBs. This in turn is also affecting the technique of the OL and mainly the Tackles.

It’s going to get harder and harder to find QBs that are molded and developed like that going forward.

A very realistic option in 2020 for Newton.

Mitch needs a new start elsewhere. It appears Ryan Pace and the rest of the Chicago scouting/brain trust missed on this one big time.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I wonder what the scouts saw in Mitch that that didn't see from Watson (played in the ACC w/Mitch) & Pat M ?

Three years later, Chicago is looking for another franchise QB to lead the troops.

Okay. Let’s say you’re right. And? Gay people can’t play football? Look, politics and who you like and dislike play way too much of a role in how y’all feel about the players. Rich Incognito was basically shown to be a racist but if he’s an improvement over Peat then bring his ass in. I don’t give a ****. They don’t have to be my friends. Go get the job done.

I don’t even think Payton wants that kind of Quarterback anymore. You either adjust with the game or get left behind.
