This game is all on the defense. NOT Kamara or anyone else on Offense.

XLIV CHAMPS

Win and lose both sides of the ball
Defense stepped up in second half and offense didn't covert on 2 short possessions and turned it over.

Time for Hill to block it

Gardner-Johnson blew it with that piss poor coverage.

Another fourth down failure on the part of the secondary, f*ck me, losing to the 49ers at the end is absolutely freaking tragic…

Btw, note to SP, take the points. Do not go for 2.

Terrible loss. Basically it’s a double because having to play San Fran on the west coast is my worst nightmare.

XVI,

This game wasn't blown the rookie.

The secondary as a whole played poorly from tip off, starting with Eli.

If you score 46 points, you should win. The defense didn't show up today.

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

Defense played lights out or with their eyes closed. Either way it was by far their worst game of the season. At the end of the season trade AK for a couple refs. They are truly game changers.

ChrisXVI 12-08-2019 03:28 PM

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

Plenty of factors to why we lost, but the two drive extending penalties by CJGJ and then that god awful coverage and tackle attempt of Kittle pretty much cost us.

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

Defense wins championships... we don’t have a good one. Likely to get the Vikings or hawks in the first round and I don’t like our chances.

I dont know. You take the kick there, at the end you kick it and you're up by 3 forcing a td to lose.

That’s what a tight end does for a team

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

Offense put up 46 points, 349 yards passing, 116 rushing, 5 passing TDs, 0 sacks, 0 INTs, 1 rushing TD.... won time of possession.. lost 1 fumble

This is fully on defense and any comments about what the offense should or could have done are just flat out asinine.

Williams is specialized in making those WTF plays that lose big games.

Tell ya one thing that was apparent...this is the way our secondary looked in the past when we had horrible LB Corp. Looked like that again today....yikers

Williams you fu****g idiot. Who the hell tackles like that!!!!? That was obviously going to be called you fu****g d***. Defense was a f*****g embarrassment and shameful. We were lost and didn't know about Kittle! Please! And Gardner- Johnson, wtf kind of tackle attempt was that. Boy, am I pissed!!!!!

Is anyone on television going to pull their heads out of their butts long enough to realize that even if pass interference can't be called on a punt play, holding is STILL HOLDING?? That changed everything.

Should have been called, definitely

The Saints choking against the 49ers on a big TE play. An iconic duo.

Secondary is way too soft. This loss is on them. Saints should have ran away with this game, but defense hurt us!

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

And the "personal foul" on the supposed helmet hit was COMPLETELY erroneous. The guy is coming to tackle a receiver who is about to make a catch, and right at the last hundredth of a second the guy starts falling backwards and spins around INTO the defender, who was CLEARLY trying to pull up.

HOW is it the defender's responsibility to know that the receiver is going to fall a certain way, where he would have NO CHANCE to avoid that contact? If that is a foul, then there is no such thing as a legal tackle, and this idiotic league is dead.

They also had a touchdown which was offensive pass interference as I am sure you can't pull someone down by their jersey which was clearly evident and I was surprised Payton didn't challenge it.

49ers WRs caught everything with Apple in coverage. There was huge difference when Lattimore was in coverage on those slants. Dude is just average CB who occasionally becomes DPI machine.

I agree entirely! I thought exactly the same thing when SF was called earlier! What exactly is a defender to do? I get player protection, but reality has to come into it somewhere!!

Exactly! At some point, you have to get a grip on reality and stop asking human beings to play a violent sport at 100 MPH, while simultaneously being able to be SUPER careful not to make ANY kind of contact to the head, regardless of how fast he play is unfolding, and how the offensive player is twisting in the air.

This is unwatchable.

I hope Brees isn't injured. He was holding that right bicep. Got hit a lot on that last drive but played like a warrior. To bad defense blew it again after another vintage performance from Brees.

This game came down to the refs. Again. How in the world could anybody see if differently.

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

The defense was poor but glossing over the fact Kamara fumbled inside his own 20, and twice they got the ball at the halfway line and scored 3pts. Not too mention going for two when completely unnecessary and constantly feeding Kamara 13 carries for 25 yards and leaving Murray twiddling his thumbs on the sideline 7 for 69.

Both sides of the ball blew this up at different times.

Kamara isn't running hard at all, doesnt look anything like he did in the first games without Drew. Business decisions and I'm fully expecting a no show until a new contract happens in the off season

FinSaint 12-08-2019 03:48 PM

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

I knew immediately that they scored too fast - Smith should've gone down to milk the clock.

Of course you take the TD when it's available, but there have been similar occasions where the receiver/runner went down on purpose.

"Jimmy Graham" situation all over again. Took the beating early in the career, rookie contract, business decisions on the field...

Re: 49ers @ Saints Game Day Thread

The Saints need to just withdraw from the league. They totally suck. They do not deserve to be considered for the post season. They are horrible in every aspect of the game. Brees sucks and needs to quit immediately. As fans we would be idiots to waste another minute watching this hot **** continue to attempt to play on the field. What a waste of time. They just need to move the ****ty franchise to London and save us the horror of this crap.
