this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; And the "personal foul" on the supposed helmet hit was COMPLETELY erroneous. The guy is coming to tackle a receiver who is about to make a catch, and right at the last hundredth of a second the guy starts falling ...

And the "personal foul" on the supposed helmet hit was COMPLETELY erroneous. The guy is coming to tackle a receiver who is about to make a catch, and right at the last hundredth of a second the guy starts falling backwards and spins around INTO the defender, who was CLEARLY trying to pull up.
HOW is it the defender's responsibility to know that the receiver is going to fall a certain way, where he would have NO CHANCE to avoid that contact? If that is a foul, then there is no such thing as a legal tackle, and this idiotic league is dead. |
