Guess what...next two games he turned it up, but sure it was the gameplan not a message to get your ass back in gear....sureeeee
Now he is unfortunately injured...again. we paod two first round picks for him I expect a pro bowler for that cost. He has definitely showed some real potential..just hasn't stayed healthy. Guess who is in their last year with us? Rankins. He isnt getting resigned. |

Re: Saints have not lost an ounce of belief in Alvin Kamara: 'His time is coming'
My take...
The ultimate goal each season is the Super Bowl, the road to that glory changes a good bit as the team crosses certain milestones. Some teams have one game style and utilization of their players... That's why the Falcons **** the bed often. They are very good some seasons but their coaching just cant get them there. We were not the best on paper in 2009 but we were unpredictable. Personally.. I do not have any issue with how Kamara or Murry are being utilized. 1. I am not interested in running Murry until he is injured because whats behind him? We are not the team of past thats 3-4 deep at RB. We NEED him in the playoffs. 2. Kamara doesn't have to be 100% or utilized as he was in the past. Just being on the field means Defenses have to account for him and that creats mismatches. 3. Murry doesnt look like a top RB in the league because he is... he looks that way at times because teams are having to account for Kamara and Thomas leaving Murry to make trouble where the miss matches are. 4. Our offensive line is gimpy, pounding the rock every play isnt going to get them healthier or help with attrition for the rest of the season. Pass blocking takes less of a toll on offensive linemen. 5. Believe it or not, I am okay with there being very little 2019 tape on how Sean Payton uses every offensive weapon to its max value... The most shocking comments that I read are the ones that assume Sean Payton doesn't know how to use RBs... Oh and about low percentage plays... Those also happen to be the plays the defense are least expecting.. Just maybe there is value in that? |

Re: Saints have not lost an ounce of belief in Alvin Kamara: 'His time is coming'
Kamara was run through the grinder because for whatever reason Payton will not give Murray the ball consistently no matter what. Payton force feeds Kamara the ball between the tackles and I believe that the wear and tear on him is showing. Yes, he's been less than 100% for some time. He's tried valiantly to come back from injury but you can see his legs give out at the tackle. Murray needs to get the ball more and Kamara needs to spend more time in motion before the snap. Defenses key in on him and the screens aren't working because he can't shake the defender like he used to because of his physical limitations. We don't know what the injuries are but it's obvious that they are cutting down on his effectiveness.

The thing about Kamara being used to create mismatches is that when Michael Thomas is the only other weapon there are no mismatches to be created.

I touched on it in the game day chat ...
AK's footwork is back. He was shifty and had that "burst" we are all familiar with. He looked good last night. |

Re: Saints have not lost an ounce of belief in Alvin Kamara: 'His time is coming'
I think AK is a beast but he has been Reggie Bush 2.0 this year. Murray has been by far our best back. Murray has hardly been used in his career and is only 29. Trading AK in the off season might be the best for everyone. At the least look at what you could get in return. I just can’t see him being worth what he will demand. I would love to see AK become what he was his rookie year but I don’t see it happening.
