That was a Mike McKenzie type move.

I applaud the Saints coaching staff for seeing a weakness and addressing it.

Won't know until tomorrow. We don't have to declare until then.

I'm guessing one of those promoted from the PS today gets cut tomorrow.

Apple better be on it tonight

Well worth a look at him either way. Teams just match up targeting Eli the last few weeks and he's not been holding up well. Shame, he started well and played well through stretches

Re: Saints claim Janoris Jenkins

We should consider the fact Apple was traded from the Giants after not being able to start over Jenkins.

This gives us the man to man corner we’ve been needing behind our starters. I like this move!

Hopefully no one gets hurt tonight, but if it happens that would be the call.

This completely changes our team. Apple was a gaping hole on our defense imo. Jenkins is a huge step up.

Jackrabbit is a really solid corner will help in the playoff stretch and he doesn't have to match up on the no.1 wide out.

He can be an asshat so long as he's an asshat off the field and away from the locker room.

This is a weird one. If we wanted depth there are guys out there who have played in our system who come with waaay less baggage than Janoris.

Hard to look at it as anything other than the coaches losing confidence in Apple.

Rsanders24 12-16-2019 04:21 PM

Re: Saints claim Janoris Jenkins

Either Apple steps up and plays like he did at the beginning of the season or he can hit the bench...I believe Jenkins will be motivated for two reasons. First, because he is on a contender. Second, to show how dumb of a move it was for the Giants.

Welcome aboard!

They caved. Everybody is caving. It's the "IN" thing to do right now.

Even if he is stopgap for the next 2 months this is a great move.
Since he was waived, his $12,500,000 for next year is voided I believe

edit- we will owe him 11.25 next year

I hope no one rushed out and got that jersey

His contract is not voided. Giants were looking for an excuse to dump salaries for cap space heading into FA.

Not really, considering it's for 2 games.

Don't get me wrong, I love the move, but from a financial standpoint he will need to restructure next year to stay with the team. He is due for 12m next year which we are now on the hook for, but if cut I am not sure how the dead money would go.

Hopefully he lives up to his potential for us, he gives us the best CB duo in the game and you know he has to be thrilled with the situation he just fell into.

The more that I think about it the more I like it... He 'should' play with a huge chip on his shoulder just to prove that the Giants are Sofa King We Todd Did.

It looks like his cap hit next season is $11.25 million but none of it is guaranteed. It’s truly just a rental.

lol, if he was really cut for using the word retard, the world is more ****ed up than I imagined...and I already had low expectations of it

Re: Saints claim Janoris Jenkins

What does the word retarded mean? According to Webster's it means "very informal, offensive". Archaically it meant, mentally or intellectually disabled.
It was actually used in a scientific setting to note these features in an individual and traditionally was not an offensive term. In 30 years will the terms "intellectually disabled" or "mentally handicapped" be considered offensive. I almost feel as if you called someone that today that wasn't "mentally handicapped" they'd take offense with it. Even if you argue that the mentally handicapped shouldn't be referred to as "retarded" , which I'm fine with.. I don't care one way or the other.... I don't see why it matters if you refer to someone that isn't mentally handicapped as retarded. I don't see how that is offensive to the "mentally handicapped". The way we look at language today, almost anything could be deemed offensive.

I know we used the word as a positive adjective for a long time in the same fashion as we utilize stupid.

That boy retarded.
That boy stupid.
That boy hard.
That boy cold.
That boy fye (fire).

All interchangeable and all meaning good/great/elite.

Yup that's another thing that makes it even more ridiculous as people have slang definitions attached to it that aren't even intended to be offensive.

Retarded. Adjective. Repeatedly affecting the display of tard.

Or as I explained to my teen aged daughter after she lectured me on "retard" being offensive... Retard is a mechanical term that involves slowing an engine in one of many ways... timing, restricted exhaust (Jake Brake), etc.. It is not offensive it is the technically correct term... "That moron's motor is slower than mine. He is retarded" :clown:

Retardation also carries an IQ range of <20 to 70.

She walked off mumbling something about not knowing why she tries. lol

$11.2 million cap hit if we keep him... $0 in dead money if we cut him.
