The Associated Press reports New Orleans Saints DE Willie Whitehead (turf toe) remained sidelined Wednesday, August 3, with a case of turf toe. During practice, he was able to do some running but he did not participate in the practice session.

Saints | Gardner Emerging from the Pack?

The Associated Press reports New Orleans Saints WR Talman Gardner has entered the fray to be the team's No. 3 wide receiver. He has shown good speed and steady hands, hauling in nearly every ball within his reach. "He has been outstanding in this camp," head coach Jim Haslett said Wednesday afternoon, August 3. "He might be our best receiver out there right now as far as catching the ball. He hasn't dropped one ball yet in eight practices. He's running great routes, and he's tough as nails. There are going to be some tough decisions there, because right now he is probably our best receiver."

Good to hear about Gardner. I was hoping to hear similar news about Henderson....guess I hoped wrong. I have to be honest, I thought Gardner would be the odd man out. I glad to hear the good news.

I'm kind of disappointed that I haven't heard a word about Poole. Has anybody that has been to camp seen him. Is he even in camp? I thought he could make a difference, but it sounds like he may not even make the team.
