I wanted Sanders more so than anyone. He's a threat. I just hope this guy doesn't become the player who knocks us out of the tournament with big plays in January.

Antonio Brown is a next year acquisition at best.

The NFL hasn’t started it’s investigation yet and he won’t be cleared I’m time this season.

I can't see SP thinking "next year" with Brown. He either plays for the Saints in 2019 or the league suspends him, AB files an appeal and he suits up, plays at an elite level throughout the playoffs and subsequent SB.

Well you definitely called it, and I was lukewarm because I'm tired of mortgaging the future (draft picks)...

And that signing cost us the first seed in the NFC Tournament...

AB, at best, would be a short-term rental.

Thanks for the touchdowns, Thanks for the ring, Now take your arse out, and go do your own thing...

He can't play until totally cleared by the NFL. He's not playing the rest of the season unless the Saints know something nobody else knows.

He can't be suspended until he is fully investigated. He is currently eligible to play right away. However, he CAN be placed upon the commissioner's exempt list IF he is signed to a roster. The commish cannot place a non-roster player on the exempt list.

It's a 100 percent chance Roger would definately do it to us.

Re: Antonio Brown at Saints Facility

What makes him so dangerous is not so much his route running but the showing of his hands. I heard some pros discussing it. He won't show his hands until the last split second which is hard to do for a WR.

MT does some of this but most of what MT does is precision route running and power.

That's why I'm sure the Saints asked RG first if he would meaning they know something nobody knows otherwise, there would be no point in signing him or even taking a look at him for that matter.

All I know is if he is cleared somebody in the playoffs is going to sign him. Might as well attempt the block.

No doubt. But we're not dealing with a rational person right now either...

How you think he's going to react to the bright lights of the NFL Tournmament?

About 7 catches for 111 yards and a TD Game 1.

Well almost 100 years ago Robert Johnson sold his soul at the crossroads to the devil to play guitar and maybe this is our way of continuing in that time-honored Delta tradition :).

I would love this.

Because Sean would hand him walking papers if he were to cause a stir. No question about that. The risk is absolutely worth the reward in my opinion.

Re: Antonio Brown at Saints Facility

There’s no risk if we sign him. He gets brought in on a bargain and we walk away not owing him anything if it doesn’t work out. It’s not like we’ll be stuck with all this dead cap if he goes crazy.

Walker: Is Antonio Brown worth the risk for the Saints? Depends on which AB you're getting

There is a risk and it is not the financial risk. It is the risk of turmoil and at a time we don't need it.

Apparently AB is hanging out outside the facility with fans taking pics and whatnot. Doesn’t seem to be leaving in a hurry. Is a deal being hammered out?

Y’all really overrate that aspect of the game. If this team is fragile enough to be broken by a temper tantrum from AB then we aren’t a championship team in the first place.

Everybody not sign missed overlook is in the past ... gone ... not worth the time to reconsider ... today next 4 weeks is what matters ... Sign him if it works it works if doesn’t it doesn’t.

there is no way the league finishes their investigation of AB and releases him to play

not this year

bad mark on us

I really like what AB could do for our offense but on the other hand I'd rather not see our playbook posted on Instagram.

Oh boy!!! To wake up to this kind of news is crazy. One hand I feel like it’s Xmas on the 27th and on the other hand with all his antics I feel like he can be major distraction. Roll the dice and the worst that can come out is probably a compensation pick in 2020.

Re: Antonio Brown at Saints Facility

The guy will have to clear league protocol
His serious off field allegations

That process has been in the deep freeze
No way does it happen for the playoffs

This sounds like just press fodder for Espn, NFL Network, Fox Sports etc
they can talk at length
downgrade our achievements etc

I'd rather win with what we got than this circus

Pisses me off we didn't get Emmanuel Sanders for a win now scenario
now he IS the GO TO wr for San Fran

terrible

I suspect the lack of investigation is not an intentional black ball but rather a resource decision. Brown was released and has no contract with the league, why waste time and resources until a team decides to in effect sponsor him.

These sorts of investigations can turn ugly, quick. Why risk that for someone that may or may not play again. If the Saints shows enough interests the league would start the investigation.

Still wouldn’t conclude in time for the playoffs, well maybe the last 2m of the 4th Qtr kf the Super Bowl. :)

The league isn't stopping him from playing. As I pointed out earlier, the commissioner could prevent him from playing by placing him on the exempt list, IF and only IF he so chooses and that requires Brown to be signed to an NFL contract first. I don't expect any suspension until AFTER any investigation is complete.

I don't know where you are getting this "clearing league protocol" bit. He is a free agent and not under any sort of suspension at this point.

Once again, he is free to be signed to play. He was released, not suspended. He wouldn't be subject to a suspension until after an investigation.
