Yes, it’s a concern to anyone who wants to win football games.
It's not a concern because it would have already been addressed by anyone who wants to win football games. The alignment would have been addressed in the very next special teams meeting. Coach Rizzi was most likely addressing it himself BEFORE the next special teams meeting.

The success of the Falcon's onside licks were based upon the unique angle of the kick and the perfect bounce. The angle has undoubtedly been addressed. NOTHING can be done about a lucky bounce.

And your percentages are meaningless. Without those two lucky bounces the Saints would be no worse off than any other team in defending against the onside kick. The sample size is FAR too small to be meaningful. Although, taking odds into consideration, given the Saints are more likely than the vast majority of the rest of the league to be leading near the end of a game the odds of the opponent attempting an onside kick would rise exponentially.

But, once again, I am sure you are stressing over it far more than anyone associated with the Saints at this point in time.

What bothered my about the onside kick coverage(s) that I saw was that the body language of the Saints' players seemed like they weren't interested in recovering the ball...

As for losses due to onside kicks, just keep flicking matches at the gasoline and eventually you’ll hit it. Statistics, not opinions.

Ahhhh! The S word!!

You can apply IT to any play in football.
80 yd hail Mary? Keep Flicking Matches,
96 yd pick 6 (going either way) Flick those matches.
Game winning FG sails through the uprights and hits the support and bounces out. Ask the Ravens! FACT not OPINION Keep Flicking
Starting GOAT HOF QB injured in the opening game of the season? BOOOOOM!!!!!!

That Dark Clouded BOOOOM! cost 1 game and provided the Silver Lining being Sean Payton can win without Brees.

Statistically speaking the Dome could collapse during the game and
way deep down inside you could hope the Saint lose because of an onside kick.

COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA WHAT IF? Flick some more matches!!!

I thought it looked more like they were surprised by the bounce and how quickly it got on them. On both Kamara and Thomas it took a funky short hop just before it reached them.

Love my Saints too, Brother, but I played enough to know, recognize when someone doesn't want to get into the box and get ball...

On the first play, Ginn didn't want any part of that ball; he's a vet at the end, just trying to hang on, get out in one piece, and get a ring...

Admittedly, surprised me with Kamara; made me think of the Mick with the Rocky movies when he laments how Rocky went and got civilized...

The second one was a freak bounce, but the commentators even remarked that Kamara made a business decision...

The third one, Vonn Bell misplayed the ball and failed to block his man, favorable bounce before Mike Thomas could get it...

Kamara will be alright though; worried we gotta rely on Ginn in the playoffs where the real warriors will want the ball more...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

You aren't alone JP. This guy has been on a milk carton a lot this season.

Good thing Jared Cook has gone nuts in this offense as of late.

Ginn can't be consistent....his better years are years behind him. Now he's a just middle aged man that can't run clean routes.
