Yeah, pretty much. I think we are all fans of the game being played on the field. Some of us are also fans of the personnel side of things. That has never really interested me much at all. The financial side of things is a different matter. To me that is fascinating. The economics involved is unique in many ways, yet true to theory in many others.
I can't wait to see all of the economic opportunities coming with the new CBA. The numbers we are seeing today are going to be dwarfed in the next decade.
Don't forget that the highest paid player 30 years ago was Joe Montana with an annual salary of $3.25 million. In ten years QB salaries will commonly top $50 million per year and the popularity will be even greater than it is today.
