I’m starting to think we might re-sign Andrus Peat much to the chagrin of Saints nation. The only better LG option in free agency is Joe Thuney and if he doesn’t re-sign with the Pats he’ll probably end up in Miami where they’re flush with cap space and have a former Patriot coach.

Sign Brandon Scherff to Right Guard, move Warford...

I just don’t see it happening. With Ron Rivera in town I think there’s renewed player interest to be a Redskin... they’ve even patched things up with Trent Williams and have him willing to come back. With $60 mil in cap space I don’t see Scherff going anywhere.

RE SIGN Peat? At what cost? No way the Saints organization will over pay for an average GUARD. Let some other dumb team do that. There are plenty of avenues to replace Andrus. I'm sick of watching DT's and Linebackers steam roll him en route to sacking my QB or getting him injured (see Rams) in games.

The way Nick Easton performed when AP was out spoke volumes.

I just don't understand why our coaches (Sean Payton) try to make Peat happen - especially in the wildcard game vs Vikings. When he went out and Easton came in for a couple of plays, our offensive line improved significantly.

The stubbornness of letting Peat back in to play contributed to that loss.

If the plan is to bring back Peat this off season, expect the same results once the opponent gets meaner, stronger in the post season.

I hear ya, but when Peat was good to go he was clearly favored by the coaches over Easton. There is no better realistic option in free agency. I suppose it’s possible that we pencil in Easton and trade up in the draft to get our guy like we did with McCoy.

Chris, sadly your assessment may be spot on of the Saints FO, but I'd be as frustrated with K Major if we didn't go all-in with Scherff; Warford is overpaid for the production and didn't get it done...

I imagine Scherff at the very least gets the franchise tag. Ron Rivera learned in Carolina the value of protecting your QB.

No one knows for sure what direction Riverboat wants to go with his current roster & he doesn't even know if Brandon truly wants to remain a Redskin. Daniel Snyder's front office has a way of doing this a** backwards.

You could very easily see a Rivera led front office & staff say so long to a guy they've never coached … a player who has missed 15 games in 2018-19.

Too be continued ..
