Amazing how one play can define a player - Marcus Williams can attest to this...

Is it just me? Am I the only one that thinks Easton should be the guy at LG?

No. An added bonus is that he's played CENTER = versatility. Tremendous value.

I do believe the Saints will draft a lineman in later rounds though.

I just don't think there will be much CAP space left to bring in a high priced FA on the O-line. Easton played well when given the shot, plant him at LG and let him build some chemistry.

I would rather see us pay to keep Brees and Hill together, restructure some other contracts and pick up a DT or two.

WR/LB/OT/G in the draft and we are good.

There is plenty of cap space that can be easily cleared. I shared an article a few weeks back that pointed out how the Saints could free up about $54 million through roster moves, roster bonus conversions, extensions and other contract manipulations.

And assuming we would be "good" is assuming that we hit paydirt on every one of those picks. The majority of players picked through the draft never pan out for one reason or another.

I don’t think we’ll have much choice honestly. The only real upgrade on the market is Thuney and he’s expected to get about $15 mil/year.

That’s good to hear, and I don’t doubt it. Mickey knows how to move numbers around and make the best of it. I would just hate to overpay for someone if we have a player on the roster that’s worth giving a shot to. Easton can only get better playing in the system longer and next to the same guys.

Personally I would much rather have a big nasty pass rushing DT in free agency.

Do we really want to "gamble" on yet another guy with knee/torn ACL issues? Isn't this #2 or 3 tear for Hunter?

Agholor aka hands of stone ... we already have one (Ginn Jr) on the team. Nelson has been hot and cold his entire career in Philly. Not a good pick for Tater "Chip" Kelly. I'd say hard pass on both of these guys even if they'd come cheap.

Brees needs legit toys to work with.

Ginn has better hands than him.
The amount of times he was in place to get the Eagles a win down the stretch last year just to drop the ball. He's awful, all the tools and couldn't catch a cold
