Cooks contract is 12/13/14ml a year for next three years. And he's one hit from a potential retirement. Why are the owners giving him this power. Its like he self sabotaging the team to bring the price down. You get rid of DeAndre Hopkins and Carlos Hyde(1000 yard season) for whatever is left of Cooks and David Johnson and the huge contracts and Randall Cobb on a 3 year 27ml deal. So you go from a top 2 WR in the league to having 2x smallish No2 receivers |
Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Just looked at the Texans WRs
Its a great complimentary core Stills, Fuller, Cobb, Cooks. Of all the experienced receivers they have Stills is the biggest at 6'1. Could see Watson demanding a trade in the next 2 years |

Wow. We're almost certainly in the running for Deshaun Watson then.

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
If they could just keep Cooks on the outside where he could focus on just being a big play threat and not as a WRx, then they should recoup their investment...
It'd take a couple of seasons before Cooks fortitude of taking a blow to the head could be tested... The guy that I really feel for in Planet Houston is J.J. Watt... Probably the Best Defensive End in the last twenty-five years and will never get to sniff a Superbowl because of a Head Coach with unlimited personnel power... Where've we heard that before? |
