Don't forget, the owners own the league. They can change those type of rules without any player input ... not that players would object. I serious doubt there is anything to worry about down those lines.

Goodell saw the writing on the wall when he cut his own salary out so he can keep his nose way up the asres of the owners , it’s coming pay cuts that is and I expect it won’t be less than 20% across the board for players coaches and employees and they should not fight it in the least bit. And it’s going to take a few years to revert. This is just ST’s opinion and not hearsay

Couple of Observations Re: Television Revenue, Stadium Revenue vs Social Distancing Effects

You know, if crowd restriction to observe social distancing looks to stay, we may see the reality of All-Skyboxes Stadiums become a reality much sooner...

If NFL Franchises move quicker to All-Skyboxes Stadiums, their stadium revenues for tickets should remain closer, in fact, they'd save in sales and advertising ticket costs...

Where they will take a big hit is in concessions; but not sure the profit margins on consumables couldn't be made up in other areas...

However, social distancing will have more fans watching games on the television, so why would ad revenues go down with more people watching?

Now, maybe overall economic conditions may cause advertisers to reign in money, causing networks to pull back, but not because of demand on the television...

This is all true. The television revenues are what drives the cap and I would expect viewership, given the season taking place, to be record setting. As for the season taking place, I seriously doubt that it won't. The Korean Baseball league just licked off their season yesterday. I watched a game. It can be done.

If people can't pay their rent then they can't pay for TV. If TV revenue is down then they can't pay the NFL. If the NFL can't get paid then they can't pay teams and staff.

More TV is being watched now than ever. I'll bet this year's NFL TV ratings break all records. The NFL draft set a new all-time record. The 2020 viewership was up an astounding 37% over the 2019 numbers. TV revenue is based upon viewership which drive ad pricing. TV revenue should go through the roof.

Agree and on top of that I'll be the NFL maneuvers to make more games available to fans no matter their market.

There is a far greater chance that college football will not be played because the campuses would have to be open. The NFL is already talking about playing three games every Saturday, as well. That's three extra viewing windows per week or 48 extra for the season. That's a 60% increase over the current number of windows per week (three Sunday, one Monday and one Thursday). TV revenues could be huge for 2020!

Less paid TV (cable) is being watched which is where the NFL draws its revenue, most of it anyway. People are streaming and though hard to believe, regular old antenna TV is on the rise and really hurting paid TV

Free antenna TV is about to enter a new heyday with ATSC 3.0. Broadcast in 4k, better sound and a lot more channels with other new features. This is all going down right now.

The NFL is in decline and this year will be one of the worst.
