Even Marshon couldn't touch that timing route...

Every year I name my free agent pickup of the year. This year is Sanders. Last year was Jared Cook. The year before was Demario Davis.

Jaguars agree to trade DE Yannick Ngakoue to Vikings

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to trade franchise defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2021 second-round and a conditional 2022 fifth-round draft pick that could go as high as a third-round pick, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Ngakoue still has to sign his franchise tender, but the trade is now in place and he is expected to join the Vikings.

Sources said the fifth-round pick becomes a fourth-round pick if Ngakoue goes to the Pro Bowl this season and a third-round pick if Ngakoue is a Pro Bowler and the Vikings win the Super Bowl.

Ngakoue, 25, and the Jaguars will have to coordinate when he is going to sign his franchise tender Sunday so he can be traded to the Vikings. Because Ngakoue did not sign the tender before the July 15 deadline, he must play this season under the tag, valued at $17.8 million, before he can sign a long-term deal.

Sources said Ngakoue will restructure his one-year deal with the Vikings to create more cap space. The Vikings entered Sunday with approximately $12.9 million in cap space, according to the Roster Management System.

He will give the Vikings a young, proven pass-rusher opposite Danielle Hunter, one whose work ethic and intensity have always been among the most respected in Jacksonville's locker room. Ngakoue also should ease the loss of four-time Pro Bowler Everson Griffen, who signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys earlier this month.

What's even crazier is that Yannick took a 5M paycut to sign with the Vikings.

It's going to be extremely difficult for Jacksonville to compete when you continuously lose YOUNG, ascending players every season off your roster.

Wouldn't underestimate the Jaguars as they've restocked the team with talented young players on rookie contracts so they can try to get players to buy into Marrone's team philosophy...

I'm not sure they've got the right defensive coaches right now and that will likely cost Marrone his job this season, unlike Payton, he didn't put a trophy in the case and doesn't enjoy that leverage, tenure...

Really thought Marrone would've tried to hire away Mike Nolan to build the defensive coaching staff there as DC, but Nolan had history with McCarthy and that fraternal connection is a big deal in the NFL landscape...

The Jaguars culture is poisoned right now. They were talking about that today on NFL Radio. Players are wanting out. It's become pandemic of its own in J'Ville.
