Re: 2019-20 Conference Championship Games
Fun fact:
KC only has 4 quarterbacks in their franchise history to reach the playoffs without being a former 49er. They are; Len Dawson, Bill Kenney, Matt Cassel and Patrick Mahomes. All their other QBs to bring them to the playoffs came from the Niners: Steve DeBerg, Joe Montana, Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac and Alex Smith. This SB should be called the DeBerg-Montana-Bono-Grbac-Smith Bowl. |

The 49ers have 6 passing attempts. They’re kicking the Packers ass with the run.

Re: 2019-20 Conference Championship Games
A-A-Ron can start pouting now. Not getting the PI calls that usually walk the Packers down the field when they're at Lambeau.
Only real positive out of this game is seeing Rodgers exposed as a fraud again. At least our playoff losses with Brees are close and all winnable games we screwed up on. When GB losses with their immortal, super amazing QB, it's always a big blow out. |

In 3 short years, Niners have gone from losers & the laughing stock of the league to NFC Champs & a chance at another SB ring in 2 weeks. John Lynch has drafted extremely well & it's paying off.
This team was 4-12 last year. |

If Jimmy G don't go down for the season with his injury, they probably don't finish 4-12 and in a spot to draft Bosa. I remember when Lynch was hired and many fans laughed about it and thought he would screw up their drafts. Most of us also laughed at them hiring Shanahan after the 28-3 blown SB. |

Re: 2019-20 Conference Championship Games
Forgot to mention - despite already being stacked with good talent on offense, they were willing to pull the trigger and make a trade for Emmanuel Sanders.
I wanted us to get Sanders so bad. Instead, we did no trades and just kept telling ourselves that this team was good enough to reach the SB without a second legit WR. When we played the Niners and Sanders went off on us for a big game, that was humiliating. |

He was always in Montana's shadow, even after he got a ring. Young also took some of the most brutal hits I ever seen a QB take. I seen him take some brutal helmet to helmet hits from the pocket. It seemed like teams intentionally targeted him to take him out of games. This led to the Niners backups Bono and Grbac becoming hot commodities when the team still won games without their starting QB.
I have always felt bad for Young. When going through DVOA and stats of the 90s, he is always, always in the top 3 of QBs for every year up to his retirement and was #1 until 1995 when Favre overtook him and yet even after that, during Favre's prime, Young had some great years left in him. Young is also a hard QB to analyze cause he was rarely healthy after 1994, which was his best season. The Niners probably win another SB in 1995 to go back to back to if he didn't sustain injuries that year and have to miss time. They finished the season with the #1 ranked defense, but only went 11-5 and then drew the Packers in the playoffs. GB was their kryptonite. Their highlight of the year was going into Dallas and stomping the Cowboys without Young starting. I often see Rodgers compared to him due to their circumstances of replacing a HoF QB, but Rodgers has regressed since 2014. Young still led the league in TDs at age 38 and his entire prime was all through his 30s. I hate the Niners, but I have always respected him, even more so since digging into DVOA stuff. |
