The whole thing is about the church releasing the list of all implicated priests and they asked civic leaders, including the Saints, about how to approach the release. The church didn't USE the Saints PR department or legal team. There was nothing being hidden. The Saints suggested the church be "open and transparent" about everything. The church did exactly that and released the full list.

The AP headline says the Saints are "shielding their emails". The Saints handed over all 276 requested emails to the plaintiff's lawyers. Are y'all not getting that? The whole point of the article is that the AP itself wants access to the emails. All concerned parties already have access. The AP does not have a right to private correspondence unless the court accepts it as pertinent evidence and at that point it would become public record.

Once again, the Saints are not "shielding" or "hiding" anything.

Be informed. This isn't directed solely at you, Beast, but to those that really do not understand what the AP is attempting.

Did you read what I wrote. The Church has a playbook dealing with it. Reach out to prominent organizations in the community. Act like they are at a loss and were blindsided when in fact they are not. They have been doing this fire drill a long time. Decades. They did the same thing here in Houston a while back. They did a segment with the most popular news channel and turned it into a pity party.

Fine. I never argued the point that the Catholic church made many mistakes. But my point is that playbook does not include the Saints assisting in "hiding" or "shielding" information from authorities as some completely misinformed gather from headlines.

Associated Press will lecture you about ethics and still park in the handicapped spot. When do they ever get held accountable for anything?

Bunch of self righteous kids who found their dad’s gun.

They’ll burn down entire city blocks to punish 1 person who lives there.

And they’re the righteousness to which we all must be held? God help us all.

Yawn. Guilty until proven innocent. These are the same claims the AP made a year ago. They want access to emails that are in the hands of the court and don't want to wait for the justice system. The AP is making news, not reporting news.

And the victim's lawyers are going to make all the claims they can, accurate or not. They are in it for the money. My wife is a malpractice claims adjuster and deals with hundreds of high dollar cases every year and the lawyers involved. The vast majority of cases are unfounded claims hoping to maximize awards. They include everyone that they can regardless of accuracy of claims. Everything will come to light in due time. In the meantime, plaintiff lawyers and the AP are likely the two most untrustworthy operations out there today. LOL
