Super Bowl Game Day Thread

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Really happy for Reid, he deserved this. Pretty good SB imho. The Chiefs really are the comeback-kings. I am really happy Richard Sherman lost. It would not surprise me if Kareem Hunt is kicking himself right now....

I guess we're different then. When I'm watching a game the player names don't matter to me, I really don't pay attention to any analysis, and talking points are nothing more than background noise. I am simply watching and enjoying the game for what it is. I honestly have no recollection of the announcers from the game yesterday. Honestly. None. I remember watching the whole game and enjoying it, though.

My thinking is well.

It's not how you start but how you finish. Those 4th quarter drives with everything at stake, improvising, critical throws defines you being a good player vs elite. 3rd and 15, Niners D all over him yet he rolls out and extends the ball beyond the marker to keep the chains moving. Clutch.

PM is a young, elite talent.

No lead is safe against the Chiefs with him under center.

The Reid/Beinemy/Pat Mahommes show comes to the Dome in 2020.

That should be fun.

Who played better? Especially down the stretch.

How fitting many "analysts" always labeled Andy Reid as the coach who would abandon the run in the biggest game on the planet ...

Yet he stuck to the run.

Shanahan didn't learn a thing from blowing the lead against the Pat's!!

After Mostert picked up five yards on a first-down carry, Shanahan called for two straight pass plays -- resulting in two incompletions from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. It was the 49ers' first three-and-out of the game.

When asked if he wished they had run the ball more on that possession, Shanahan stood by his decision.

"No not at all," he said. "The last thing you're thinking about when you're up three points and there is that much time left, the clock is not an issue at that time, especially with the timeouts. The issue was moving the chains. If you move the chains, then you will wind the clock."

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed just three of his last 11 attempts and was intercepted once; another pass play ended in a sack. In those two Super Bowls, Shanahan's offenses have now been outscored 46-0 in the fourth quarter and overtime.
