this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; What is Taysom supposed to say - "I want to be a utility player for the rest of my career"? Speculation is getting more and more pointless lately....

Re: Taysom Hill views himself as a franchise quarterback, wants to be with a team that views him that way
Fix the O line (nasty GUARD) & defense or it won't matter who is under center in 2020.
Just a short list of QB's who have beaten us in the post season over the years. Hasslebeck, Grossman, Alex Smith , Russ Wilson (I can live with this one), Keenum, Goff & Kurt "How you like dat" Cousins. I say let's start Take Some Taysom at Free Safety and start knocking fools out . ^^^ I'm only kidding guys on Taysom @ FS ... just adding a little humor to what has been a very disappointing season. So tired of losing games late in the post season, not using the L Train (avg 10.5 ypc) to close out teams or having the refs influence outcomes in games. End rant . |

Sometimes it's not for the love of the game it's just for the money. Although, I do believe that drew has invested his money well....except maybe for his jewelry investments. |

In all seriousness, the heir apparent to Drew is on another team or preparing for the upcoming 2020 NFL draft.
IMO that 5-0 stretch was killer coaching. I trust they will make the right decision when #9 exits left. |

And ELITE play from a healthy defense. All Teddy did was not screw up. Honestly that’s probably all that was asked of him. I do not think we saw what TB can or cannot do based on those 5 games.

I was going to add pretty much the same thing. Bridgewater has been getting FAR too much credit for the five game streak. He didn't win those games. What he DID do was not lose them.

Re: Taysom Hill views himself as a franchise quarterback, wants to be with a team that views him that way
I'm sorry, I wish I had the confidence that most of you people seem to have on how easy it will be to find a good to great starting QB post Drew and how casually you guys would throw away Teddy (proven winner) and Taysom (great potential). Dolphins have been looking for the right QB since Marino, right? Cleveland since, who Bernie? Buffalo since Kelly? Chicago since McMahon, and that's a stretch since he was fragile. Jets since O'Brian, and he was only pretty good. Do I have to go on? Do I also have to remind you guys of the Fourcade, Walsh, Shuler, Billy Joes, et cetera years? We've had two great QB's in how many years of existence?
I find it interesting that people are so happy to give credit to Sean and Dennis Allen in this thread for the wonders they did while Drew was out, but then crucify both for their play calling in every other thread. I can only speak for myself, but I'd be surprised, and disappointed if neither Taysom nor Teddy are part of the Drew succession plan. Feel free to flame away. |
