The window isn't closed but it's dark as hell outside.

At worst Taysom starts at 32 years old.

Mende Rudolf and Earl Strom would have a field day with current "NBA Players"

The fact of the matter is he didn’t really do squat. “He” didn’t win anything, as stated above elite play from a healthy defense along with a good running game and ball control won 5 games. Brees on the other hand has single handily won games numerous times when our defense was dead last in just about every category.
Our defense was absolutely sick the first 1/4 season. I can’t remember a year when we got hit so hard with the injury bug.
Teddy may wind up being a decent Qb with the right team around him in the right system but he will never be elite.
I don’t see Teddy as the type of guy who will go out and win you games when you are down by two scores early. If Teddy had to play the full season I have my doubts we would have won another game.

Might be decent? Might not have won another game? I damn near take that as an insult. In a conservative offense in Minnesota he did what they asked him to do. Some of yall act like his numbers were trash and he did absolutely nothing to help the team win those games but it makes sense because half of y'all were ready to make Tayson a full time starting QB.

Payton wanted TB on his team because he knows he a good QB. Is he Brees? No, but with the right coaches and offense he can get the job done. I don't know whatelse he has to do to show people that he's a good QB. You dont pay 7.5M for an backup unless you think he can start and give you an above average performance. Dude had 9 TDs and 2 Ints in 5 games with a QB rating of 100. Yall act like he had no part of winning those games.

I'm good with Brees coming back but I'm not good with how yall a treating Teddy B. Be careful what you say and wish for.

I’m betting Luck comes back in 2021. It’s not like keeping Brees will ruin our chances of ever getting a franchise Qb. There are tons of possibilities.
Teams will move on from the Tannahills and Trubiakies of the world and one or two of them are bound to flourish in a different system.
As long as Payton has anything to do with developing our next Qb we will be fine.

Billy Joe Tolliver

Let's just remember that QBing at the levels we've seen the last 15 years is going to be difficult to recreate once Brees moves on.

SFIAH

I just brought up the Billy Joe years in another thread. I loathed those guys.

So as to my knowledge Payton has not developed not 1 single qb. since he has been here. He got lucky with Brees and so far that's it,and Brees was already a vet. Payton hasn't even developed a backup unless you consider Hill as a backup. Reid and McCarthy have a better track record than Payton at developing rookie qb's. I might rethink that about the development part, he might get lucky with a vet, or could it be Hill?

IMO Taysom Hill is not that guy. You hear all of the talk "the next Steve Young is already in the building" .. what 2 years now? If he was in the building, why didn't he start over 2 Glove Teddy during that stretch when #9 was out?

My hope is that we draft a QB in April. The time is NOW to draft the heir apparent to Brees. Is it Jalen Hurts? Jordan Love? Justin Herbert? Montez?

Sorry, Carnac, but YOU are not WE.

:dunce:

You can take YOUR sentiment here and apply it to YOUR point of view as well.

WE all have opinions.

How do YOU know our D was it's healthiest at that time? How do YOU know the whole team was playing for Brees?
