Some guys are definitely going to walk next year...

The point about Brees is that next year's money is really money kick down the road...

And next season the road will be short...
The money will have no impact upon whether Brees plans to return for the 2021 season. If he is ready and willing he will be playing in New Orleans. Gayle will insist that Loomis finds a way to make it happen.

I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of short term contracts next year. Mega deals will be put off by teams and players alike. Grass will not look near as green on other teams. Once again, you cannot count on anything basing it upon the past.

WTH are you talking about, "Once again"?

The cap is going down next year and there are a number of contracts that will have to be extended...

Drew's current contract only calls for him to play through this year; the money against next season's cap was money kicked down the road...

So if Drew plays next year, a new contract will have to be made, he'll have to be extended, as well as the previously mentioned players...

As the Saints are nearly up against the cap now, and the cap decreasing next year, there are several high talent current players, fan favorites, that will likely not be with this roster this time next season...

That is the reality of the salary cap, nothing about the past was referenced with regards to that, so who will and won't be here isn't the point, the point is there will be an exodus of players...

You're reading tea leaves that aren't there...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

The once again was referencing my making the point on other occasions. Because of the economic environment there will be deals made and contracts structured as never before. With all the unknowns from the college market teams will do what it takes to maintain there rosters as much as possible all across the league. I have also heard talk of a soft cap of sorts to alleviate some of your concerns. No telling what else the league will come up with by next season. All I am saying is don't count on anything just because of the way the situations may have looked in the past. One more thing to consider is if college ball gets cancelled the revenues for the NFL will be much higher than projected with the addition of Saturday games. This could mean the reduction in cap could be far less than previously alluded.

That's somewhat ofa given, more than a third of the big schools will not be playing...

Believe NFL Revenues, should they play as expected, will be down slightly, but their profit margins will be higher and it may hasten something happen quicker than my late Dad predicted - All Skybox Stadiums...

Re: 2020 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

I've been saying ever since he was drafted that it was not as a QB. Probably a factor in why the two Saints TE's opted out. They both knew they were buried on the depth chart with zero chance of making any cuts.
